handbrake cant convert to avi or dvd, which is what the entire thread was about

Yeah I had the same problem the other day. I also needed to convert mkv into avi and while handbrake might be great for some conversions, it was hopeless for this.

I considered MoKgVm2DVD but doesn't it put a massive watermark on the video if you use the unregistered version?

Think I'll use my linux machine for this particular job.

yeh handbrake stopped supporting avi quite some time ago, nearly 2 years iirc?

ive not used MoKzcewwetrgnvDVrg2DVD, but it sounds painful! i would recommend either QuickTimePro 7 (im 90% sure it can export to avi), or ffmpegx. :)

Trouble with certain mkv files

Hey guys,

I don't know what is happening but I've tried many mkv to mp4 converters and I keep getting the same result with some files.

I have one file that I'm currently trying to convert but it keeps coming out way short of the original MKV file length.

The original file is about 1:30:00 min long, however, each conversion program has output it at 4 min.

I've used handbrake, VLC, won tube, macxfree, wondershare and am about to try to convert it to avi instead.

What usually would take over 1 hour to convert a file like this is done within 5 min.

I really don't get it.

I've restarted my macbook pro many times to see if that worked but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your help!!
