Related to the screenshot ability:

I ran into a gentleman the other day and we were comparing notes.

He mentioned the app he uses to print to HP wireless printers. However, it only prints pictures from the Photo album.

A little later, I mentioned that it'd be nice if we could print from any screen, such as when looking at Flickr photos.

He said, aha, he does this by snapping a screen shot of the online photo, which means now it's in the Photo album and he can use the HP printing app on it.

Not the best resolution, but a clever trick.

If you'd want a better resolution and not have the safari app in the picture, you could hold your finger on the picture and a few choices come from the bottom of the screen. One of those choices is to "save to photo album" :)

I would like to thank the opening poster for sharing this bit of wisdom. I just got my first iphone yesterday, and did not know about this feature.

I hope that we can all continue sharing great tips like this!

Hey OP, check out this thread:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/324487/

It has been going for a while, there is a lot of useful info there.

Point noted but you have to understand that searching this Forum for stuff like that sometimes is almost impossible not only for the Keywords you use, but also there are som many variables that come up in the search, besides this was a valuable post as where some ppl post iPhone coming to Verizon for the 900 Millionth time

Hey, I wasn't trying to make a point, just trying to be helpful. :)

Thanks, some ppl have nothing better to do with their own life so they bash threads of value maybe not to them, but to others.

Thanks for the Backup :D

LOL, these forums are becoming like a shark tank where the sharks are kept hungry. A lot of these new threads are like chum getting tossed in the tank. As soon as I see the thread title or the content of the post I often shrink back in fear and think "the poor sod didn't have a chance!" as the water turns red. :D

Don't make so many assumptions. I had no idea, and I'm glad the OP posted this very useful trick! What's wrong with someone posting useful information, regardless of how old it is?

Lighten up people.

well not to be terse...but there are already many threads that discuss this as well as numerous internet articles on the subject...and my response to the OP was not cruel or smart a$$ed just direct and to the point

While your response may have been direct and to the point, it was still irrelevant and had no place in this discussion. The OP posted a piece of information that many people in this thread have already found useful regardless of how many people have been doing this since 2007 or that there are a million other articles and posts on this same tip. The people in this thread that first found out the information today from the OP did were not doing it since 2007 and did not read any of those other sources you mentioned.

One less than thrilling development to come out of the extreme popularity of the iPhone is a huge influx of new members to this board, many of whom, unfortunately, belong to a class of genius that would be better suited to communicating using a tin can with a string. Even they enjoy freedom of speech, though, so what everyone needs to do is just ignore them, as much as possible.

I am SOOOO sorry. I did not realize that I wasn't supposed to buy an iPhone if I never bought one before. Apparently some of the long time users belong to a class of snobs that should not be allowed to associate with polite company.

To the OP, thanks for the tip.

you can delete and import pictures from your iPhone from within MacOS preview app

that's the most helpful 'you might not have noticed' tip i can think of.

Thank you MrMinor... :D

OP: I reported this thread to the Mods to try and help you out. I think it could be a helpful thread but unfortunately many "members" (aka trolls) can't seem to just let a thread go, especially one that is rich in information.

So what if some people know how to write C++, others don't and may want to learn. So what if someone knows how to take a screen shot, others don't and may want to learn.

Hoping for the best in this thread and thanks to those who contributed with some sort of sense.

Bunch of know-it-alls in this thread, of course the majority of people knew about this ONE tip, however you could of ignored it and moved on with providing some content to the thread

You can prevent going into landscape mode by double clicking home, moving the slider to the left and hitting the icon.

Funny how many critics we have hear, but instead of putting forth some good knowledge they just bash ppl and call out the Noobs, remember we were all ONCE a NOOB, everyone is new to this forum and the iPhone once and should keep that in mind when making bashing statements.

I will add a feature I recently found out about. I knew that when typing if you double tapped the space bar it would put in a period and a space to start a new sentence. What I did not know is that you could do the same thing by single tapping the space bar with two fingers at the same time.

I want to follow the OP's example.

Did you know the phone app can make calls if you type in a phone number and press Call? The only catch is you need to input a VALID phone number!

What is it with the surge in immaturity here lately? I've seen alot more coolstorybro pics this sort of crap recently, its lame. The OP was trying to help. We get new members here daily and no doubt this is of use to them.

Well thanks for this, neat little quick feature to end one sentence and start a new, something else new to me and I am sure many other folks.

You peeps are all welcome, that was the original idea of this post, but some trolls won't let others learn, they assume they know it all and that's that, well good news we can ignore them all and still help eachother.
