Thanks, I may try this out. If anyone has a PB and is folding, I would be interested in what your experiences are. What is a safe temperature to let the PB run at constantly? Also, how can you monitor what temperature your PB is currently at? If there is already a thread on this could someone please post a link?

I just installed the graphical version of F@H but I can't find where you can set the % of CPU to use. Is this only available in the console version? Right now my lap is getting really hot.

I haven't used anything but the console mode version for quite some time, so I can't say if they do or not - if you don't see it, maybe not.

If you're comfortable enough with Terminal, I'd highly suggest the console install.

I had the actual F@H logo for a protein once... p269_h2o. Actually folded it twice; the second time looked like a continuation of the first. Or unfolded as the case may be, since that's what it looked like it was doing.

Kilpajr, when can we expect your first results?!?! Owh, and some people are that stupid... unfortunately

I was at 50% this morning when I had to leave for class (I took by PB with me). I don't know if it will finish one today or not. I will plug it in when I get home so it can get started though. :)

You are correct a laptop does get hot. My wife has a PowerBook which gets hot. So she doesn't run it 24/7, afraid of damage from the heat. That is why a desktop is best for folding, not problem with it running 24/7. My Power Mac G4 is Folding happily.
