I believe the lag only applies if you use Tap to click...

I'd put money on it being the trackpad setting for double-tap speed. I'm not seeing any noticeable lag at all on right-click - maybe 1/10th of a second. But I double-tap quickly so have that set to a fast speed.

The OP is reporting a 1/2-second lag, massively different to what I'm seeing, so that's the most likely explanation.

From what I've observed, if I right "click" with two fingers (instead of just a light tap), I experience no lag whatsoever no matter what setting I use for two finger Smart zoom (or Double-Click speed). If however I set the trackpad to use Tap to click (like I normally do), I absolutely experience the two finger right click lag the OP is referring to.

It's not something that personally bothers me, but I thought I'd chime in to perhaps clear up some confusion. I'm guessing that this may be where the disconnect is occurring for people that are not experiencing the behavior that's being described. Definitely a cool little an easter egg!

Nope, it's not my first language. I'm multilingual, and that makes me better than you.

Who asked how many languages I speak? I guess I missed that memo, or else I would probably have had you, considering my career is devoted to languages. Speaking and truly understanding them are two different things. The latter makes a better person.

Nah, I'm still better.

Stranger and stranger. No lag here, and I've always used tap to click.

I get about 0.5s of lag before it appears, where if I click, it is instant.

I never used double-tap to zoom, nor do I two-finger tap to right-click (my thumb rests on where the trackpad button conventionally was, so I just click with my thumb with two fingers resting). I do single-finger tap to click most of the time though.

Nice find nevertheless.

Yeah, I love it now that I know about it! Now I'll NEVER have a reason to turn smart zoom on, the instant right click was worth the sacrifice for me anyway.

Um, yes actually. Quit being hard-headed and do some research before you post. It doesn't make you look all too smart.

2. Useless and one-word posts. Do not bother making posts with only one or two words (e.g., "cool" or LOL) or a smilie, or post simply to have the first reply in a thread. Such posts waste everyone's time and will be deleted. Posts saying "I agree", "+1", "this", "me too", or the equivalent are also routinely removed, so don't post them. If you aren't interested in a thread, skip the thread; don't post to tell us you aren't interested. If you celebrate making the first post in a news thread, your post will be deleted.

No need to, I created it. Why don't you read back through it. If smart zoom is on, then your right tap DOES lag.
Remind me: which of us knows what my machine does and doesn't do?

Repeating your mistaken claim doesn't make it any less mistaken.

If you actually read what has been posted you'll see that there is no lag for some of us, and that I've posted a possible explanation for the difference in behaviour reported here.
