As many know, for many years I've been on thee warpath against yellow screens. Every year, LCD phones with yellow screens hit the market, and every year a bunch of ill informed apple fanboys claim its either Glue or Intentional Warming cause MOAR ACCURATE 6500K! Heres a mega thread from last year: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/just-returned-my-iphone-7.1997580/

With todays iPhone X release we now know the truth - Apple isn't intentionally warming displays. Apple goes with the cheapest display process they can. On LCDs, the manufacturing process for certain vendors produces phones with more yellow tint. Other LCDs do not have the tint (so-called "cool" screen phones). Each phone Apple has released has had a range, with some phones more yellow and some phones more cool. The yellow ones were never more accurate, just really terrible looking with poor contrast.

Samsung only makes cool tinted displays. So guess what? The X is cool tinted. Apple didn't come in and do any special calibration to make it warmer, which they would have if they were "intentionally" going warm. IN FACT, Apple now claims the X is the most color accurate screen of all time! And its cool tinted!

In the verge review, Nilay mentions this - the X is cooler, and true tone doesn't match the 8 LCD in temp. Apple claimed it was intentional and the X is more accurate. https://www.theverge.com/2017/10/31/16579748/apple-iphone-x-review

In summary - don't shill for Apple. Don't make excuses. Apple is a corporation. They are here to make money. Whatever temp the underlying manuf makes the screens is the temp Apple goes with. The yellow screens plaguing LCDs in the past were made by a substandard vendor who charged Apple less money. End of story.
