The coolest thing I found was a quarter. But this wasn't just any quarter, it was a quarter that was glued to the floor. It took me 3 minutes of grabbing at it to figure that out. Then I tricked my friend into trying.

SO the object itself wasn't very cool, but it entertained me, therefore it is cool.

Oh, there have been so many good ones... that I don't remember. ;)

Actually, I do remember one. when I was in the fourth grade, I needed only Venasaur to complete my evolution set of all of the Pokémon you start with in the games. I was talking to one of my friends about how close I was to getting it (We were racing), and lo and behold, I tripped and saw the exact card I needed (worth like a ton o' money) under a cabinet!

w00t! :D

When I was in 6th or 7th grade, on the way to school, I found a bag on the street full of several nudie mags (This was around 1990/91). As you can imagine, for a boy that age, it was like finding buried treasure. ;)

Kids today have it so easy with the net....They have no idea how difficult it was to procure err...pictures back then. I was very popular with my friends after school.

nice find:D

thought i found a 10 dollar bill in the middle of the plaza on my university's campus. sadly it was a couple kids playing a prank on passerby's making them all look like fools haha

but seriosly, ive found a huge frog which i thought was cool, some snakes, turtles lol

but man made stuff, gotta be a sweet chisel and hammer and 60 dollars once on a parking lot in vegas (made up for my losing streak!)

A duffel bag with $200,000 in it. Turned it in to the police, it had traces of cocaine so they kept it. I think they got some police equipment with it. I have no problem with that.

definitely a tie between $40 by the side of the road and a butane lighter, the type where the flame passes over a little chunk of cupert chloride or something and comes out green. I don't smoke, but it's still a cool lighter to have.

lets see,
1)my old wallet under my bed with £20 in and a bunch of cancelled cards - thought I had lost it but it turned up 3 months later.
2)£5 in the gym changing rooms.

thats it really

I run across interesting things all the time when I am out doing field inspections for my job.

I found 3 guitars, a bass, and an amp in the edge of a woods one day. Let them go because they were sitting in water and the veneer had started peeling. Not worth getting my feet wet.

A couple of weeks ago I was staying at a lodge for a conference when I found a brand new iPod Nano in the desk drawer with a bunch of plastic Easter Eggs. Probably a kid got it for Easter, hid it in the drawer and forgot about it. I turned it into the front desk and they found the family.

Last week I found a loaded makeup case along the road with a lot of expensive brands in it, but no ID or anything important, so I left it.

My dad was out harvesting soybeans about 15 years ago when he called in on the radio and said he found an airplane. I was expecting a model or something but when we got there - It was a single engine Piper sitting in the middle of the field! The pilot had engine trouble right after takeoff and had to land it in the field or eat power lines. Folks from the airport came over and towed it back.

LMAO!!! Ghall you crack me up soooooo much.

Back on topic: The coolest thing I found was a $20 bill out side my house when I was about 8-years-old.

I don't find a lot of cool things.:(

I found a perfectly good set of shelves out by the dumpster at my apartment building. As I am lacking a chest of drawers, I took it and now it holds jeans, socks, towels, underwear, etc.

You lot are so lucky! I have never found anything cool or useful!

Someone even found a freaking PowerBook!!!

what have you found that someone left somewere and you happen to saw/found it...were and what was it? money,phone,ring..ect...and what did you do with it?

i found 5$ and keep it..:p lunch:D

I found a Casio watch at about 60ft deep while diving in Hawaii about 10 years ago. It had some algae growth on it, so I guestimate that it had already been down there about 3 to 6 months. And yes, not only was it still working, but the time was correct!

As cool as my find was, it doesn't compare to the $4,000 in cash that my wife found about 15 years ago in Santa Monica. Almost everyone berated her for handing it in to the the cops. But no one claimed it, so after 6 months she went there to claim her find :D

i also "found a soda macine where after you payed, you could press the button multiple times and then multiple sodas would come out haha

that was a great find for a 10 year old

I have a 25 cent soda machine near my house.

I'll resume posting on MR after all of my teeth have been de-rotted. :D

when i was 13, before a hockey game, i found 50$ hanging out from under the chalkboard in the dressing room

I would have some trouble turning that in...

I think I'd turn it in as only 150,000 or 100,000 and see what happens to the rest. If they find the owner and it turns out to be a sweet old woman with a ton of cats, she gets the rest of the money. If it's tainted with coke, etc.... well, I have college loans to pay off.
