mine is still in louieville, since tuesday. called ups and they said its sitting there on purpose because of an agreement with Apple.

At least ios6 is out to keep me occupied!

I think things are moving. Today my shipping went from 3 PM end of day residential, to no shipping time at all and now within the last hour or two it was updated to 10:30 AM on Friday

Mine too! I think they are just playing with our emotions. Watch tomorrow it go back to "end of day" lol. God I hope not.

iPhones are being overnighted to sort facilities tonight.

Those who live in the main sort facilities have a slight chance of early delivery. Very slight. For those who live in less urban areas, sorry!

Phones that are delivered early are done by accident and are at random. All phones have a hold on them till friday, so if one slips through the cracks then it doesn't matter if it's someone's who lives in the city or in the country.

My question is, will I be able to call UPS and pickup mine from the facility here in Dallas on my way to work @ DFW? :D

Well if you live in a more rural area, the device needs to be trucked to a smaller more local facility.

Someone who lives in a city that the aircraft lands stands a better chance at a phone falling through the crack, as you said. I'm not claiming it's a great chance, just a better one.

Mine just updated to noon on Friday.
I still show one in Louisville and the other in Anchorage. I'm sure they'll be on the road on Friday, and just to make sure I get them good and early I'll be intercepting my UPS driver at his 1st stop! :D

Yeah, that's true. Touché

No movement, but mine updated to 10:30 AM on Friday. I reaally hope that's true, I have better things to do Friday, other than sitting in my living room waiting for the UPS guy!

I wish. UPS has flags on these packages that don't appear to the public and they *shouldn't* allow a customer pickup until Friday. Could happen though. Is the DFW sort facility at the airport, I thought it was in Mesquite. They won't give it to you off the aircraft that's for sure.

Like here in San Antonio, I have to wait for it to be unloaded and brought to the sort facility in Leon Valley.

Wasn't going to ask for it before Friday. Wanted to pick it up ON Friday on my way in to work. I won't go for Mesquite, but I know my local office is off Walnut Hill.

Nice! I was dreading this myself. Mine has also updated to "By 10:30 AM"! I can actually do stuff the rest of the day now.

Very doubtful. The iPhones will be on the trucks by about 6 AM and the driver's DIAD will have already been preloaded with the route sequence.

Think of it this way, you stopping by and picking up your iPhone 5 might delay several hundred other iPhone 5 deliveries. Take one for the Dallas iPhone pre-order team and wait for the delivery. :D

Yeah, that's why I was thinking about calling UPS and/or Apple tomorrow. But it all depends on a) what time/day they would allow me to pickup and b) which location it would be.

Why did my tracking just add this original date of Monday?

I doubt it will make it to me in NY on time. It still hasnt changed.

The phones are most likely at world port in Louisville, from there they can pretty much get anywhere in around 5 hours, that's if they haven't moved to your regional hub already. My UPS rep said apple asked UPS to stop visual trackability of these shipments due to the amount of calls they were generating to apple, carriers and UPS
