iOS 8.1 is beta testing, and there is evidence that test builds of a purported 8.2 and 8.3 have circulated as well. I haven't seen any reports of an 8.0.3 version showing up on analytics.

8.0.1 builds were already in circulation before 8.0 came out, and we all know that 8.0.2 was an emergency release that also bundled together the bug fixes included with 8.0.1 along with a few new ones.

Unless Apple narrowly focuses 8.0.3 on a very specific bug like 7.0.2 focused on the lockscreen bypass, I don't see why they would issue a minor interval update when they are actively testing a much larger update for likely release within the next three weeks.

8.1 has apple pay and sms ipad features which are due for release in October. that is why its likely we will see 8.1 and not a 8.0.3 build released this month.

8.1 will only go through a month of beta (compared to about half a year for 7.1 and at least a few months if not more for 6.1 and previous x.1 releases), and in the meantime we'll get 3 bugfix releases in that period of a month?

we got two in less that a 2 for 8.0 already fairly quickly. there are still some issues with 8.0.3 that 8.1 beta has address. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple releases a few more small patches while 8.1 is being tested.

I don't doubt it, being that Apple Pay is a huge part of iOS 8 and will probably have multiple updates before its near perfect. Right now I think 8.0 is set with what feature it will have... and its all bug/fixes and complaints (i.e. Camera Roll being added back in 8.1)

If apple is having an event on 10/21 as the rumors suggest I can't imagine that they would release 8.1 the day before the event. I think it makes much more sense that they'll introduce it at the event and it will be available later that day.

Yeah it will most likely be the 21st. That seems to make the most sense. They will probably just be enabling things on their end the day before.
