I don't think I could; equally, I wouldn't want anything larger.

The XS Max hits the sweet spot.

No. I also would not want anyone anything larger either. I think the 6.5 Max is exactly what I was looking for with a larger display when viewing my content. But the major drawback for me, as I don’t like carrying a large device my pocket as it is, but I understand that’s the trade-off if you want a Phone of that size. Altogether, I don’t have any regrets.

The XS Max hits a sweet spot. It's very easy to the eyes, and very friendly to my relatively larger fingers (in typing). I'm like operating a very large device (due to the very high screen to body ratio), and the weight is quite well distributed on the phone so that it doesn't feel very heavy.

It fits into my jeans pocket comfortably.

I can remember getting a Sony Xperia Z in early 2013; that device was amongst the first to have a full HD screen and it was 5", considered big at the time.

But it had huge, sharp bezels, was the most uncomfortable phone to use ever and was a no-no for fitting into a jeans pocket as I felt like I was getting constantly stabbed by it, especially sitting down.

Some complained about the round edges on the X/XS here but in my experience the black/gold X/XS/Max has color coating on the sides which makes them less slippery, the white one has 'pure' stainless steel bands and must be put in a case.

I'm all for round edges since it doesn't 'eat' into my hands.

You say “move” as if everyone already has a 6.5” smartphone in their pocket. Maybe one day I will hold an iPhone Max in my hands for five seconds in a loud and busy Apple Store. Or maybe never!

Well I did tag the thread as iPhone XS Max.

There is nothing comfortable about carrying the 6.5 X in the pocket. It’s a great phone by all means, but let’s not make it sound like it’s not obtrusive, when it is with the weight and size. I’m not complaining, I’m just making a clear observation that there is a trade off if you want larger phone like this.

When it's in a jeans pocket it's just like the Plus phone. I think the pocketability problem has been discussed to death since 2014.

No, unless Apple pull another iPhone X on us and don’t offer a bigger size. However I really wouldn’t want to use anything smaller. I’ve always liked big phones. I’m contemplating buying a pop socket but I think I would find it annoying and uncomfortable.

Of course, anytime, that is the exactly the reason why I didn't get the Max, nor will I ever get any 6.5 inch phone from Apple or anyone else. I went to the Apple store and I saw one, so I exactly know what I am talking about.

Even the X/XS is on the upper limit for me, but it's OK. The XS Max is even slightly bigger than previous Plus models.

Each to their own. Some people have large hands, so they do not have problem using such gigantic phone. I prefer to use phone one handed.

Completely agree. After owning plus phones for 3 years and this last year the X, one thing I don’t miss is that big phone in my pocket.

You’re not missing much. Stick a plus model phone in your hand and turn it around lol the max is even a little bigger than that.

I had every Plus phone and then last year upgraded to the X. This year for the first time I decided to not upgrade my X since it’s almost paid off and wait until next year. I would love more than anything to upgrade to the XS Max but trading my X or selling it would be the stupidest move for me. I’ve played around with the XS Max at the Apple Store and use 2 hands when typing on my X, so that won’t be issue for me and I don’t have an issue carrying a Plus size phone in my pocket. 6.5 inches is the biggest size in a smartphone that I would use.

I’ve seen iPhone Plus cases with a finger ring on the back, those are surprisingly practical against accidental drops. But seriously, why can’t a phone have a comfortably holdable size in the first place?

I hope the XR is just small enough.

I used the X and now I have the Max. What I found with the X was that it was small enough to use with one hand, but not hugely comfortable and was quite heavy with one handed use. I'm much happier looking at the Max and using it with two hands. I also found I often would type with two hands by nature even with the X, and that obviously is much easier on the Max as the keys are larger.

I would however consider an iPhone that was truly ideal for one handed use that was all-screen. Something the size of the SE or 4.7" iPhone. But if my choices are the XS or Max, I prefer the Max.

The Xs Max is actually a tad bitsmaller then previous plus sized phones. Only the screen is larger.

Dimensions Xs Max 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7mm
8plus 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5mm

It suits me fine. Google Maps did a good job of mapping me a walking route today, and it was a pleasure using the larger screen (compared with the X).

I have the iPhone Xs and thoroughly enjoy it. The great thing this year is that those of us who prefer the smaller option are no longer left yearning for the specs that the larger device offered. We have 19% less battery size but other than that we get the exact same thing in a more manageable size.

I use an Otter Box on my devices and it makes the Xs almost too big. An Otter Box on the Xs Max would be unbearable. As long as my phone calls, texts, emails, and let’s me get on social media I am golden. Would I use the Xs Max? Absolutely. If there was not the Xs.

I could, but why would I want to. Been enjoying the xs max greatly, my x feels so small now compared to it. I could actually see it getting a little bit bigger.. 6.9" or 7" perhaps. :D

Love the screen hate the size. I actually returned mine for a Xs. It would have been bearable had the battery life been significantly better than the Xs, however that really isn’t the case since the Xs almost gets the same battery life minus 30 minutes.
