Enjoy it! You might not know this, but it's much cheaper (over half price) to upgrade the RAM with an aftermarket upgrade. Which monitor are you using with it?

Outdated or not the current Mini would run circles around any Mac more than a few years old. It would put my G5 PM to shame!

And also the current iMacs run circles around any Mini and most 2012 MBPs. So I don't think that was a weird question.

You buy what you need, if you want the 2013 iMac next year then IMO if you need a new Mac the Mini is a good choice, get a $200 22" LCD and your set, then later use it as a 2nd computer or sell it on eBay next year.

good advice, don't listen to any rumors that are not on the front page of MR ;) Screw buying now you will regret it but no one knows the date yet.

Exactly. My machine has been broken since March :-/

Our iPhones are filling up - haven't synced since march.... Once the new iMac comes out, I can either sell the mini or use it for a home theater pc.

In that case it is not the worst decision you could make in a day. You didn't indicate there was a problem with your iMac. If your iMac was fine, model depending, I would not have paid money for the mini. That point is moot now.

In my case my MacPro is too old to upgrade to the newest OS so I purchased a used (most recent version) iMac 27" for $1,100.00. The machine is fantastic. I also have last years mini on my HDTV so I can surf and watch all those stations that don't come on ATV. Anyone who says last years models are not worth getting do not live in the real world. Many of us just wait for you to turn over a year old machine for the latest, greatest machine.

The new iMac is going to be great but don't forget that the Mac Mini is MUCH cheaper and a definite viable option for people who don't want to spend a fortune on a new iMac. I have used the latest Mac Mini and it's fast a reliable.
