Got my first Moderna yesterday afternoon, 2nd shot on Apr 13 ... arm is a bit sore around where it as injected but not really bothering me

My wife and I were able to find a local pharmacy giving covid vaccinations in the next town to us in rural New York where we live. The pharmacy gave the shots in the local volunteer Fire house. The volunteer fireman managed the parking. They tagged the cars with the times of each appointment. We stayed in our cars until a volunteer came to get us. Went into the fire house, filled out a form, got our first ‘Moderna’ shots, sat and waited 15 minutes. We then got a card attesting to the fact that we have gotten our first shot and the time and date of the next one.

Neither my wife and I (24 hours later) have had any side effects.

More to the point the local pharmacy and the volunteer fire department in a town of about 3000 ran this event without a hitch. I’m not sure what that says about big government but I sure as heck know what it says about small rural towns. Left to our own devices most people can manage and manage well.

I had my Johnson and Johnson vaccination on Saturday March 13th along with my husband, mother, and friend, all within a 30 min time span. I kept a running tab on all fevers and symptoms on my iphone notes of myself, husband, and mom, I checked in with my friend several times daily, so I have accurate accounts. I will document our experiences so far. Hope this helps people who are looking for different experiences with the vaccine symptoms.

Me: I have autoimmune age: 44

I had Astra-Zeneca last Saturday.
No problem with the jab, no pain in the arm but I had a slight fever- emphasis on slight- for about a day and a half with a lot of sweating and leaden legs.
I'd say I was functioning at about 90% and it was a little uncomfortable but nothing to moan about.

I'm pretty young at almost 39 but a first responder and our take rate here is extremely low. I got the Moderna. My first shot I had pretty bad fatigue for 24 hours or so, I felt like ****. After that period I was find. My second shot the fatigue was drastically reduced, pretty minor. However I had a big fever that hit 102. Again 24hrs and all was well. My wife got the same and her reactions were a total of a sore arm...

Had the AstraZenica on Saturday evening. I had planned to spend all of Sunday in bed ill watching back to back 70s BBC shows (Survivors, Dr Who) and calling downstairs for endless cups of tea to be brought to up me. Much to my disappointment was I absolutely fine when I woke up, so couldn't swing any of that plan past the management. However, after 24 hours got that odd feeling you get when you think you're about to come down with something and now (Monday am) have a light muggy headache which feels like it will pass.

Very grateful to have had it though...

I'm now 10+ days out from getting the Pfizer vaccine. I had COVID in mid January. I had very little reaction to the vaccine, just a sore arm where the injection was.

The process? I was called by my GP's office (part of a larger medical group) and they advised they had received a shipment to distribute. Something in my file flagged me as eligible due to a co-morbidity. I talked to them at 2 PM, scheduled the latest appt. they had and I was in the exam room getting jabbed by 4 PM. They were very efficient, I barely had time to finish the paperwork, got jabbed and spent 20 minutes in the waiting room for observation, out by 4:15. I go back in a week for #2...

I'm wondering if they're ramping up vaccines beyond what local clinics can handle.

My only data point is my Dad, lives in Santa Clara, CA and got injections at Kaiser in a converted large common space/ waiting room clinic.
First shot was 2/21. 5 people ahead of him. In and out in under 20 minutes.
Second shot was 3/14. 150 people ahead of him. In and out in 2 hours.
There was the same number of greeters, admin, and injection stations for both shots.

My theory is someone said they weren't hitting their quota so they increased the number of available appointments to beyond the actual throughput of the number of staff.

Got my first Pfizer dose a little over a week ago, they say you don't really feel it after the first shot but I can assure you that I did. Not terrible side effects but definitely noticeable, I had some chills, a really sore arm, headache and was pretty much knocked out for a couple of days. Still have #2 to look forward to lol but it doesn't last long and not a big deal, I would take 10 of them if it meant getting my life back. IMO it's like winning the lottery.

Thanks, it sounds like we'll all have it within the next month or so anyway. Seeing light at the end of the tunnel! How about you, get yours yet?

I got my 2nd dose of Pfizer on Sunday with only a mild soreness at the injection site, just like the first dose and just like my annual flu vaccine.

Yep, got my first shot in December and second shot in January. You can read about my post 2nd shot ordeal on this very forum. Day after 2nd shot was AWFUL, but worth it.

That's what I keep hearing, how was your first shot?

Not bad. Lots of pain on my arm, had some trouble sleeping on the side (let alone lifting weights), but nothing major.
I see, I'm hoping my strong reaction to the first one might help with the second but I guess we'll find out.

2nd dose Pfizer today, and just like the 1st no symptoms at all. Keeping fingers crossed it stays that way next few days.

Typically the symptoms manifest from a range of 12-14 hours from your inoculation time stamp, so you wouldn’t naturally be feeling anything yet. Not saying that you will feel any effects, but it’s a bit premature with your second shot today (Likely just hours ago). It’s Usually the following day after your next sleep cycle.

Sore arm 8 hours later on same day. But yes, next few day are the key.

Next day low temperature, headache, slight chills, and overall feeling blah. So the 2nd dose is the one to get through. Apparently, the 1st dose tells the body what to learn as a threat, and 3-4 weeks later the 2nd dose causes the body to react and attack.

OK, both my wife and I have already had our two doses of the Moderna vaccine. First one on February 1st, and the second one on March 4th. For #1, only side effect was the area on our left arms where we got the injection was a little sore for the following 2 days. But for the second dose, side effects were more bothersome. Again, we both had soreness in our arms for a couple of days. But my wife also felt like she had the flu for the following 3 days (we got our high dosage flu shots in August 2020). Myself I felt somewhat more tired than usual for the same 3 days. But finally we made it through, and things are good.

Moderna is developing a booster shot for folks like us to combat the new strains that are appearing. But my wife and I have not changed our quarantine habits even after getting the doses. Still wear a mask outside, 6 feet apart, and we don't go out very much, except to Costco and HMart. Ny wife does play Korean cards with some of her friends in a town not far away about 3 times a week, but no issues with that. I plan on getting outdoors next month with my usual spring fern picking. Fortunately the areas I pick are rather isolated (but not too far from where we live), so don't have to worry much about masks, 6 feet, etc.
