Because it says in the information that replacement phone will be either new or att certified used and same model/color/specs not guaranteed
That means you are guaranteed at least the model and at least the specs of your phone, but not your exact phone.

As I already mentioned, if you have a 128GB Rose Gold iPhone 6S, but those are no longer in stock, you could possibly get upgraded to a Rose Gold 128GB Rose Gold iPhone 7.

I'm gonna go try at the Apple Store first before I file a insurance claim. Wish me luck!!
Best of luck. Fingers crossed.

Yeah, i was hoping I could get a what I got with the iPhone 4s situation. I was bumped on the street and dropped my phone and it cracked. Walked into apple the next day, told them what happened and walked out with a replacement iPhone in less than 30 minutes no fee. If not I'll just use my insurance with At&T and file a claim and pay the deductible but I'm really afraid I won't get the same black iPhone 7 plus as a replacement

Accidents like this are super discretionary to the technician you get. As an ex-Apple genius, I can tell you that they have lots of power when it comes to in-warranty devices with issues like this. They can plead your case if THEY want to, so go in with a good attitude, be friendly and not demanding.

You still do not understand. They will replace your phone with the exact same model and color. Why do you think otherwise.
He thinks otherwise because his phone insurance with ATT SAYS so... did you even read his post?

They are implying that it depends on availability. If you have a 5s and they don't have any to give for replacement they may give you a newer model. That's how all device insurances are.

Given that the op has the least-supplied phone, he's got some non zero chance of receiving a different phone.

False.

I'm sure I have the least-supplied iPhone. I have a 128 JET BLACK 7 PLUS. Same thing happened to me where the camera lens cover was scratched. The Apple Store replaced it with a brand new 128 Jet Back 7 Plus.

Actually, looking at the pre order threads, it seems rose gold is the last to ship.

I'm just really hoping I could get that with out the apple care like last time.
So you want the benefit without paying for it

That’s why you shouldn’t use third-party insurance programs
