happens to my earpods as well.

can you guys list whether your sets has a mic built in? It could be related to the mic/headphone combination

Happens when I'm driving my wife's car and am using an aux cable with an integrated mic. But mine doesn't so much crackle as it does cut in and out.

This was happening on the first day and now it's not anymore.. Not at all.. I don't know when it stopped because i don't regularly turn the plug, i only noticed it at first on accident. Stock earpods and my own plugs. Just tested again to confirm and it's not doing it at all any more (and it was pretty bad at first).. Maybe dust or left over solvent or something..

I will have to do some more testing but I did notice a slight static in the background while using ear pods and watching a video podcast. I don't mind much if it produces static while rotating the connector since I never do that for any other other than messing around, but there should be zero static while "listening normally" to a video.
