Is your XS / Max crackle at max volume through earpiece?

I am not trying to get the issue to stop by posting here (that is just a dumb assumption).
Just trying to know how widespread this could be.
According to other trheads, repairs and replacements do not solve the issue.

Had this XS Max 256GB for few days now and notice when phone ringing (like "opening" ringtone) and some songs on YouTube, the earpiece is crackling.
This happens above 80% volume.

Did some lurking for few days and seems its quite known issues with the X, XR, XS and Max, but many claim this is not hardware.
Some users said went through few replacements and all have the issues.

Any advice?
Currently downloading the iOS 12.2 beta 3 to see if its fixed or not.

Bit of crackling is to be expected from high volumes. Especially that newer iPhone ARE LOUD. Doesn' bother me nada...

I find that cellular calls on high volumes crackle more than FaceTime Audio calls.

I had this problem with my 8 Plus and it went away after some time. I noticed it when I played a song or video that I remembered that it had a crackling sound at the high end, and it was completely gone. It's almost like the speaker "broke in" in a way.

Well, i see that as an issue when paying so much for an iPhone.
Seeing that the 8+ / X also had similar issues and were addressed in a software update, i hope this is also software and not hardware, because i don't want to go through returns lottery.

Any news on this issue?
Tried iOS 12.2 Beta 3, the issue is still present.
Should i return the phone as hardware defect or wait for an update?

Getting really pissed when i hear even the default “Opening” ringtone crackle.
For the price of this XS Max, this is unacceptable tbh.

I had this problem on my old iPhone X. I participated in topics in this forum about it. I sold my iPhone X with this defect and nothing to be corrected via software. I believe the unit has a very high loud sound for the small top grill speaker, which causes the vibration effect. My iPhone Xs does, but far less severe than my old iPhone X. On iPhone X it was easily noticeable in calls, some YouTube vídeos (vlogs) and audios received by WhatsApp (volume 80% up). In the iPhone Xs I hear the problem much smaller and with much less intesity only in calls at maximum volume. I do not listen it in WhatsApp audios or songs or games, etc.

iOS 12.2 beta 5 still not fixed the crackling earpiece.

Everyone should fill up this form on Apple website and then they will start to take action.

https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Same issues with the earpiece were present on iPhone 8 Plus and Apple sorted it via software update, so lets submit report through the link above.

I keep sending through the Feedback app on the beta iOS also.

I have the same problem, iphone xs max, it's not just on speaker calls or normal calls with loud voices, but all sounds with some specific frequencys like piano music's, iPhone 8 had the exact same problem which they tuned the earpiece with update so it resolved. I'm afraid this time it's not going to happen since this problem is there for quite some time. I contacted apple support and took the routine actions to let them know that this problem is there and they should notify their engineering team. But we need more voices, everyone who's having the problem please contact the support and don't agree about replacement, go as high level as you can and tell them that this was happening with iPhone 8 too. And get a support call. I believe apple is not Acknowledge this issue yet so we need more voices.this kind of things are unacceptable with this price even some Chinese brands have better quality control and earpiece! We need to go to media like the 10 second stutter which went viral, our issue is much more important than that. And send feedback to apple please.

The reason why it resolved by itself was because they updated ios and tuned the earpiece.

It seems replacement is not the solution, as far as i read people who replaced didn't get a good unit, one of the guys in Apple discussion forum went to the store and tested,he said all the units there had the problem.

This is not a normal sound, its because they didn't tuned the system sound for some specific earpiece speakers. And it's completely abnormal.

We had this discussion over at Apple’s discussion boards, however they keep removing my comments over there because they don’t like the truth.

I shared the link to report the problem via Apple website here and there on their discussion boards.
I sent them reports and also sending reports constantly from the feedback App on the developers beta i have on my XS Max since iOS 12.1.

I tried to get in touch with EverythingApplePro on YouTube, since Apple checking his content, however no reply yet.
Anyone knows him or could contact him directly?
This has to go viral and Apple will take action.

Exactly what we should do, share it with media, yeah any youtuber would be good to start it. I don't know how we can contact the macrumors team I'm trying to find a way to contact them and some other websites

Ok.i contacted macrumors,Appleinsider, phonearena to see what happens, the problem can be solved i don't know why they don't acknowledge this issue or they are working on a fix maybe?! I didn't think so. I hope they fix it, it will disappoint me from apple and it's products. No other brand have this issue in this widespread format

Honestly I don't think they will fix it. My opinion is that this is 99% a hardware issue, if you want certain volume for the speaker its going to crack, therefore, leave it the same or the fix would have to lower considerably the output of the earpiece speaker. I have no doubt that this issue is present on all iPhones XS, all of the ones that I've come around have this issue. Let's hope they listen.
