Craig Federighi Explains Why Apple Won't Merge iPad and Mac: 'We Don't Want to Build Sporks'

Personally I agree with the sporks analogy. I completely understand the hype for MacOS on an iPad. At the same time, I feel the real solution, if any, is a touch scream MacBook. iPad is a tablet, one of the first successful tablets. iPad is as successful as it has been because it had an OS that is designed around touch, versus an OS that can work with touch. At the end of the day, there is no reason to take an iPad and put an OS that requires a mouse and keyboard…. We already have a super slim and light device that has a permanently attached keyboard and mouse, a MacBook.
