It isn't all about what the dollar is worth though. In the uk, they pa £399 for a base model iPad 2, which costs $499 in the USA, even though £399 is worth $594.79 USD.

Even when the canadian dollar was on par, even when it was worth more than the american dollar, we still payed more. That is just the way the cookies crumbles. I remember being super irritated in 2007 when I had to buy a textbook that had both the canadian price and american price on the back, and the book was $279 cad, but only $199 usd, even though our dollar was worth more than the american dollar at that time.

Of course, the value of our dollar does factor in somewhat, and the dollar is likely to continue declining for some time unfortunately. But still, I agree that is seems highly unfair.

Today it's $1035 USD, tomorrow it will be $1250 USD.. It changes from day to day.. I purchased something from Mophie at one price, called them back to refund it five minutes later. They refunded it the next day and I lost $5 CAD.. Same item, just cancelled the order and got it refunded and lost $5. Exchange rates are VERY fluid..

So Beavix, you can bite me about complaining about a Canadian complaining about the prices..
That is the credit card company who did you in. They have one rate for charges and another lower exchange rate for credits. Had the same problem when in the US my wife bought something on a credit card and returned it the same day.

At the end of the day, for whatever reason - whether it's currency exchange rates, taxes, etc...prices are what they are.

You can choose to buy Apple, Android, or a Windows device.
