Thanks Sunapple for your ideas. I have ordered rubber cones from here; https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005001963172688.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.45f44c4dTrp9Vd
Less then $2 and free shipping from China. I ordered the 50mm ones. They come with a black metal cone in the middle. With some alcohol you can remove the metal cones. The rubber cones fit perfect in the Cube baffles. I also ordered black rubber/metal flex glue for €12, so this should finish the job.
Hi. I have ordered the same rubber.(recently got those speakers and foam seems to fail apart, although better than OP speakers) How to put rubber in? Is glueing necessary?

I certainly think that glueing is necessary. Loose cones might give a distorted sound. I glued the inner part of the cones before installing. Then when they fitted well I went around the outer part with glue on a small metal tool. I used black glue so it won't be visible when finished.

Thanks. Applying glue like this?
And rubber can be simply pushed in?

Gonna have to file this info away; I've got a complete cube kit inbound in the next month or so & I can see the foam on the speakers crumbling away in some of the shots. Luckily, I do have a set of the SoundStick II's to use in the meantime...

You are going to need a little more than that. The Cube has no audio output port or inbuilt audio card of any description. The only options are via USB or Firewire, so you will need a USB audio adapter at a minimum. I wouldn't recommend using USB powered speakers on it, either, as the USB 1.1 ports are weedy in terms of power throughput so any such speakers will be quiet. Apple did some trickery with the HK USB Apple Pro speakers it supplied with the Cube to boost power to the speakers when they were plugged in, so you got reasonable volume, although nothing to compare with powered speakers.

Thanks!

When the Cube launched in July 2000, the USB SoundSticks where actually the 'standard' speakers for the Cube, the Apple (+ Harman Kardon) Pro Speakers launched in January 2001 (and the Cube was killed July 2001...). The SoundSticks with subwoofer sound better, but the Pro speakers are cuter!
The cube pro speakers + iSub sound good i putted now cube on my desk next to main pc and using it for music with iSub sadly didnt have the powercord for isub but i found out which pin is postive and which negative now usin 12v powersupply its enough for it.But my cube speakers are rotting already:(
