To be fair, I would also use Apple for warranty work if I had bought a Mac from John Lewis, Selfridges, KRCS or any other Apple authorised retailer. If my iPhone ever breaks it will be going back to the Bullring Apple Store and not Three where I bought it from.

My favouring of Apple for customer service is not reserved to products purchased from C/PCW.
I completely understand, but my point still stands, that you wouldn't go back to C/PCW because you know they offer crap service and Apple stores offer great service.

Now, what about Apple customers that decide to look at/buy a Watch from C/PCW and then have to endure their crap "service" when they take it back?

As I said earlier, there's no way on earth C/PCW Apple staff can offer anything like the level of service in an Apple Store, when it comes to stock for replacements, on site repairs etc, so people that have experienced that in an Apple Store, will expect it from C/PCW and that's the point it all falls apart and will piss customers off immensely.

"What do you mean you don't carry replacement Watches/carry out repairs here? I bought it here ("from Apple") and I expect to be dealt with here and no, I don't accept that sending my 2 month old Watch away for repair is a suitable option"

Get me the store manager please"

That's what is happening now if you take your Apple Watch into an Apple Store to be repaired.

I can't speak for all stores of course but the store I worked in was actually pretty good in terms of Apple. I used to be the Apple Specialist at my local store and every member of staff in the store apart from 2 or 3 people who were hardcore build your own PC kinda guys used macs. Granted they didn't know the problems inside out but I actually trained them on how to demonstrate features to customers such as iWork and iLife.

I also helped with supporting customers who came back with issues. The guys at our "tech desk" maybe didn't know the answer but would always call me up or bring me over if I was in the store that day to help rectify any issues.

Meanwhile the PC World store opposite ours? Tragic levels of customer service.

I do have to say though that not ALL stores are like this. And as they are the biggest Apple reseller in Europe it must be going well from Apple's perspective. The store I worked in would always recommend Apple over Windows PC's to customers because they've used Apple themselves and they know how it works and they know how it has helped them and can speak from experience.

Is this the cribs causeway store?

It's a misleading picture for a variety of reasons. Firstly all the people at the back are at the Genius Bar which is always busy there. The front 2 tables are also used for Mac Genius Bar appointments. To the left of that picture is the macbooks. To the right is the iPads and I believe some iPods too. Which means no one is looking at them either. You can see the new MacBook on the left which no one is looking at either. I've been to that store a lot and it's never busy anywhere other than the genius bars.

No. It's not that store. It's the Bluewater store. Which makes everything you said wrong.
