This new notice keeps popping up even after I have accepted. Very irritating.

If you can post a screenshot, that will help them a lot in tracking it down.

Yep, thanks AGAIN, macrumors for the new year treat.
The new notice is more annoying than the old one.
Also large ads are now at the top of the forums.... ?

Yes, that is what I have been getting today.
The notice and huge ads. If this is the new normal I won't be staying around long.

I have clicked on the Accept All button a few times but every time I go the the Front Page and then click on the Forums button, it returns me to the Forums main page but the Custom Ads notice pops up at bottom of the screen. I have closed down my MBP and tried again, same problems occur. Am I the only one with this issue?

I have rejected all, clicked save.
It hasn’t returned.....yet.
This is on my iPad, keeping off my mac due to these Pesky ads.

Well, I have just rejected all by Toggling All, saved and no luck. This will keep me away from Macrumors.com if this is not fixed soon.

looking into it

Sorry... we made some ad network changes over the new year, and will likely have some things we need to adjust going forward.

1. Large ads should be gone for logged in users.
2. I'll need to look into the Custom Ad alert thing. It's supposed to again, only ask once. We'll be playing around with it the next few days. If it keeps happening (asking more than once), then let me know.

I know here in the UK, they introduced some stupid gdpr (general data protection regulations) thing last year which is supposed to be better for end users, but tbh is just a pain in the arse.
Every new website you visit you get a confirm notice for different crap nobody cares about.
I think the US is doing something similar.

I just want a web browser with no ads.
If I want to buy something I will look for it.

Have you looked at the Brave browser yet? I just started using it and I find it very nice how they handle ads.

I prefer sites like this one where I can pay to support it and get an ad free experience.

On a side note, just opened the main site, and there are zero (nada) ads anywhere.... :)
I think it may be unintentional though as all ads are normal when logged into forums.

FYI, we do offer a direct pay-to support the site and remove ads option:

We haven't really pushed this option but plan on making it more obvious and add further benefits. It's presently priced at $25/year.

Can you keep your normal description below your name instead of ‘contributor’?

MacRumors, sort this out. There’s a point to which ads actually repel visitors, or hinder the customer experience and I think you’ve well and truly reached this point.

This is annoying, agreed.
Select ‘reject all’ and the notice shouldn’t come back ?

Can you explain the issue? The pop up returns? Are you clearing cookies or does it happen every time regardless?

Can’t get rid of the pop-up whatsoever. Tried clearing cookies and then accepting all. Exit the site and then return and the pop-up is there yet again. There’s no way of getting rid of it.

Ok.. I think I found the issue.

Visit this:

https://www.macrumors.com/cookie-wipe.php

After that you will get asked again once on www and one on forums. But it shouldn't happen after that.

We are in an in-between time right now between ad-networks which unfortunately means there are two different consent pop-ups. And they were conflicting with each other. Very soon, we'll get rid of one of them.
