iPod touch Custom carrier image and slide to open text

here's mine...i'll probably change these all the time!

Really simple guys. Download the .string file that he linked to and search the file for what is usually said on your iPod screen (ex. "slide to unlock", "slide to power off") and then change it.

As for how to unlock the PNG on a mac, I'd like to know too!

actually there's an easier way. if you download the customize.app from installer.app and go to Springboard Strings, you can change them there. You can also change the carrier image by making you own in photoshop 20px high.
 
to change the iPod for the carrier,
do i open it in photoshop cs3 and then delete the one that is in the ipod
and put the one i made in its place?

yep, and make sure they have the same names as the ones you're deleting

i just started from scratch in ps [60x20] and renamed it to FSO_CARRIER_IPOD.png. I couldn't get the Default_CARRIER_IPOD.png to work so i assume that's a different file.
 
If I could get the files open :mad: It seems to be a deep dark secret that noone wants to share. Frustrating!

New version of customize is still not working for me. It just crashes after the chicken screen loads.

yea i didn't bother with customize for that only certain things can be changed in customize so i just used the plist and ps ;)
 
Can anyone help me with this it would seem like something really cool to do..I am d/ling the .strings file off of my iPt and when i replace the "slide to unlock" I keep getting "AWAY_LOCK..." and not my text that i put in.. any ideas?

I cannot get the .strigns from the file sharer b/c their server is down...is that the problem?

also I am using Text edit, and I assume that is what i should be using..
 
Download the strings file from here. It's almost to the bottom.

While I was searching for the .strings file I came across someone with the same error, it might have been you on the iPhone forums :) I don't know how to fix it, I don't have a wifi connection at home so I have to mess with all of this elsewhere. Makes it inconvenient when I want to do things to my Touch. :(
