I like the original slick color better, but it's really nice to paint my MBP by myself. Can I ask why you didn't paint the power adapter/code? Is it more difficult, or do you like it that way?

I would guess that the cord and adapter would show a lot of wear because they slide on the floor often. Or maybe it could be a fire hazard. Not to mention that paint would also chip off the flexible cord.

This got me thinking that this might be a job suited for some of Alsa Corp.'s crazy paints. Like, if you still wanted the anodized aluminum look but wanted it in a different color, or perhaps a good clearcoat to protect it, Alsa's got some crazy stuff. Heat sensitive color-changing paint, too. And chrome. And some crazy crackling-like stuff. And any other crazy paint you could think of.

I see. It seems painting laptops is a lot more complex than I thought.

danm that shop kick ass I like the gold one ,but i dont like having to send it over the mail, if can find a place like that in washinton area y do that the next time

wear

won't look so great when the track pad area reverts back to its original color due to wear

`dude that got two coats of paint and five of clear gloss plus the invisible shied
even without it I doubt the paint wear of like the cheap laptop do

Because Windows kicks ass!

I going to try those spray can kits next

Don't like that paint at all, but to each his own.

With that blue and the silver keyboard, it reminds me of a Pine Wood Derby car I made in scouts years and years ago. Sparkly blue paint with a big nasty looking lead weight on top so it'd be up to weight spec for the racing rules lol....

I'd never paint mine. Laser engrave maybe, but never paint.

Nice...

Gotta say, looks good. I am not a fan of the color, but that is just personal choice. I may want to do this to my old PowerBook just for the heck of it. I am thinking id go flat black and get some custom red pinstriping for that old school hot rod look, much like the "murdered" look that is ever-so popular. I have always been a fan of the aluminum look, but my PowerBook is gettin a little beat up And this may refresh it a little bit.

Sorry but that's revolting...

it's not the worst paint job in the world then again it's no longer a mac - more of a PC...

Wouldn't the paint act like a giant glove and keep the heat trapped inside? From what I've seen my Unibody case acts like a giant heat sink as the heat travels throughout the whole case and is spread out.

well so far playing crysis on high still on good levels
this laptop was in Iraq a survive and I am about to go again
I let you know if it fry this time:p

I think I'll pass. I paid too much $ for my computer to try and customize it to such a degree.

Removable stickers? I could do that. Paint, on the other hand...a little extreme for me.

if it was ceramic paint, it would actually facilitate heat transfer. And this is hardly horrible looking. Props to the guy for doing something different, god forbid someone break the flat grey mold that is a mac finish. Im kind of indifferent on the my macs finish, i like how it looks, but i couldnt hurt to have a little flair. The hard case helps though :D

ceramic paint are you serious? were you get that
next week Ferrari red for my neighbor until then blue haters

Meh this is pretty ugly, the paint job is well done. But the colour just doesn't do anything good to the unique MBP design.
