What state? Here in AZ it’s being beta pilot tested by state employees but knowing governments it could be a while before we see it public.
Louisiana. When I'm buying alcohol some places accept it and some don't. It's not compatible with the Wallet app so I have to open the "LA Wallet" app to access it.

Anyone know anything about HomeDepot? They did accept Apple Pay early on but shut it down saying they needed a system upgrade. That was years ago now.
They need to be certified for what’s called EMV Contactless, which is pretty much a chip card in Contactless form (which is what Apple Pay is). Hopefully HD will be done with this process soon.

I really wish gas stations would start accepting NFC/Apple Pay at the pump (Shell in particular). This is an area that needs contactless payment because so many thief's use credit card skimmers around here.
I see plenty of those here in Arizona. Mobil has an app, Circle K and newer Shell pumps have it right on the pump itself.

Yes. I tipped you to this on SEPTEMBER 21!!!!

It was enabled a month earlier than that, even.

Card issuers should start mandating that contactless payments be enabled at all retailers that take those cards, just as they have been doing with chip cards.

I think that's the only way that this idiotic ******** will finally stop.

They do elsewhere. The card networks probably thought that they didn't need to for the US (either because they assumed that contactless was permanently dead or because the vast majority of new terminals have the hardware). Obviously that's not the case.

I guess my boycott of CVS can end. Nice. :)
Same. Although I hate CVS. I can’t count the times I go to pay for something and they’re short handed. They’re always restocking and have no cashiers. If they do have an attendant, there’s a long line. They’ll wait for most of the line to dissipate THEN call someone over for assistance. It’s one of the worst retail companies in existence, yet somehow it’s always filled with customers. I don’t understand.

One word... pharmacy. It’s their bread and butter. They don’t care about front store at all.

It’s only residual RX business.

I had to switch to CVS and for the last year kept trying my watch. Guess I annoyed the right number of people.

Home Depot promised to the largest user of Apple Pay just after they shut it down in 2015. WTF is with them.

We don't shop CVS. Did they push/promote "CVS Pay" heavily in their stores? It's everywhere in WallyWorld but who knows how much Walmart Pay is used. We use it ALL the time. It's even easier to use since their app now takes advantage of Siri Shortcuts... "Hey Siri... Open Walmart Pay."

Finally CVS... Took you long enough to see the light. CVS... you’re a pharmacy/store, let the tech companies design the tech. Walgreens beat you to the punch in years and they’re card reads through NFC too.

The pharmacy in my local Target is run by CVS. I'm guessing the CVS stores inside Target aren't switching?

Maverick is Colorado has them at the pump as well. And Costco now has it at the pump too. It’s defintely spreading.
Up in Denver some Costco's have the hardware, but it hasn't been activated yet. The one I go to normally doesn't have the hardware at all. In store they have it now, but it doesn't work with non-Visa debit cards yet. My debit bard is a Mastercard and their NFC system refuses to take it. But if I insert the same card in the reader it works just fine. Crap like this is why Apple Pay is so painful.

I'd like a list of the ~1000 most common retailers and see who supports it everywhere, who supports it only on the web, who supports it only in store, and who doesn't support it period.

Does such a chart exist anywhere? Seems like a good thing for MacRumors to put in the Apple Pay roundup, but I don't see anything there. Maybe just a crowdsourced chart on Wikipedia or Google Sheets or something?
