Man... it makes you think that expensive apple computers such as the Macbook pro lines should atleast include iworks free of charge.

I don't think so. First of all, Apple would loose millions of dollars. Second, a lot of people don't want to use iWork and if Apple gives it to everyone, people would think they HAVE to use it.

Are you kidding me?

Apple would lose millions of dollar? Is there any reason why a 13 inch macbook pro that cost 1,099$ is running on intel core 2 duo is costing 1,099$?

So by your logic, since apple included Imovies and Ichat on their computer, people think they HAVE to use it right? I am pretty sure the average computer users use programs that fit into whatever they are doing.

I don't get it, what are macbook users using for their office software? Microsoft office? I don't get why people don't want to use Iworks. Its a pretty good program from what I heard.

op you can't ask a loaded question about the "pro" moniker in the title and then have the post be purely about the price. I'll converse on either, but not both. ;)

What so pro about the macbook pro in your opinion then?

And so do expensive macs.

i am not going to get into this with you.

My macbook pro cost around 1.7k with the student reduction thing. Comparing the specs of a pc to a macbook, there really is no challenge in terms of price.

Atleast apple can do is include iworks free of charge.

It gets paid to compete.

/hates these threads.

Compete with what?

In my opinion, if you are going to sell a overprice computer with low-end specs compare to a PC of the same price value... at least include a variety of good softwares.

Macs are typically more expensive than PCs
That is a dead horse that needs no more beating
If you don't value OSX or the Mac integration of OS/Hardware/Software, then buy a PC

Saying that including iWorks is the least that Apple can do is about as absurd a thing as I have ever heard

Wow, right over your head.

You're paying for the OS and for the right to use the OS. That's the important part.

The zero viruses or issues that I've had with over 10 years of Mac use makes the price more than worth it.

But really, do you think that you're being original with this thread? This is a boring, annoying argument that someone who is clearly bored comes up with every once in a while. Go play WoW or something.

Tell me something that OSX can do that Windows can't do in terms of multimedia, gaming, office usage... etc

I would buy a PC but I bought a mac instead because I was so naive and stupid back then. *you know actually I wouldn't complain all that much if I bought the 13 inch MBP instead of the overprice base 15 inch MBP. The free ipod touch and the 100$ off the printer was pretty ****ing awesome.*

Apple monopolizing the whole OSX is the reason why it is so expensive huh?
Whats so special about the OS in your opinion?
besides the virus part.

And lol I don't play WOW. I don't feel like paying 15$ a month to play a virtual game is worth it.

Nope... not my job to evangelize you

Sell your Mac
Buy a PC
Everyone will be happier

I actually would.

Hell I would even pay for the restocking fee but its too late to do it now since the time for returning is up.

And I don't want to deal with ebay, amazon or those kind of sites.

So you have buyer's remorse and to compensate you for your poor choice you want free crappy software? Sounds in line with how irrational you appear to be.

is it really?

Sigh, you live and learn right?

I guess spending that much money on the MBP didn't go all into waste. I can pretend I have money just by taking it out and using it at say like an internet or a cafe..

LOL, Im a new poster around here, but I have been reading these threads FOR YEARS.... I love them.
