Well...
UPS still doesn't know when I will get it.
BUT apple.com says tomorrow...

:)

Don't think that would explain China --> Alaska --> China --> Korea

Me too----same times also....except now mine left Incheon, KR....not sure where it's going.....

Tr00f.

I'm still thinking it's on one of Han Jin's cargo ships.

For those who didn't click the story links I posted: Han Jin, the Korean shipping company, declared bankruptcy a couple weeks ago. All of its ships which were already at sea—I think I've heard it was over 170 vessels—weren't being allowed to just drop off their goods at shipping ports because they wouldn't be able to pay the port fees (yes, the way it works is, you're driving a cargo ship, show up to port, ask to dock and unload, and the port charges you a fee for using the dock space and for unloading all your stuff). A lot of ports said they would simply seize the goods and use them as collateral to recoup the money, but obviously Han Jin didn't want it to happen that way.

The Korean government has given Han Jin some cash to buy food and fuel for their ships, and they should be either unloading at various foreign ports or returning to Korea.

Of the links I posted, Reuter's is more recent:
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-hanjin-shipping-debt-usa-bankruptcy-idUSKCN11L2NL

Here's one posted yesterday by the LA Times:
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-hanjin-return-chartered-ships-20160919-snap-story.html

I've seen Han Jin shipping containers on trains from California all the way here to DC. It's a pretty big company to fall into bankruptcy.

This complaint is only valid if Apple also owns the trucks, ships, airplanes, and trains for carrying all of their products.
It applies when people who ordered seconds after the online store being available not getting their products at launch, seemingly because they just weren't ready.

No --

The most control Apple has over the process is in two places: the factories (which are still beholden to events in each location) and within Apple's own retail and warehouse properties.

Once it gets in the hands of a shipper, other problems can happen. Train wrecks, airplane crashes, worker strikes, whatever.

The complaint I highlighted blamed Apple for something Apple didn't, and couldn't, do.

When's the last time you sent a letter or package to somebody and it took longer than you hoped? What about when you were selling the item to the recipient? What's your response other than the shipping receipt and tracking number to prove that, yes, it's shipped and no, you aren't scamming the buyer?

South Korea, so Park Geung-Hye -- and that's Mrs. President to you. ;-)
They all look the same to me, no worries I am "allowed" to say this "emoji"<- I look very much like this guy... very yellow

Woah. Mine was in China, then Alaska, then china and now it's in Korea????

What's going on???
Mine too
[doublepost=1474398568][/doublepost]Has anyone contacted Apple to find out why
[doublepost=1474399369][/doublepost]I just did a chat. Apple says being they are 12 hours a head of us it is confusing. Even though it says mine is in Korea it really isn't and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. We will see

I posted in the other thread about these watches having to cross the international date line, and that creating the appearance that they went back to China....They really didnt, they just left China on Tuesday and landed in Alaska on Monday. No problem for us there....But why are these things getting sent to Japan or Korea, and sitting there for up to 24 hours? And why has mine supposedly landed in Alaska, then again in Korea (apparently without leaving Alaska-no scan, may not have even been in Alaska), then scanning out of Korea TWICE, 4-hours apart. Do they even know where this batch is?

Here's my short version:

Origin scan
Left factory
Arrived at airport
Passed through customs
Departed China
Updated in transit
Updated in transit
Arrived in Alaska
Arrived in Korea
Departed Korea
Departed Korea again 4 hours later

My watch must have been shipped in the same container exiting China as yours. The dates/hours/minutes matchup exactly the same as yours. My "guess" is that the product never left China and is sitting of a shelf until all of the customs/brokerage work has been completed (ie. China=> Anchorage => China => Korea).

Only after the "paper work" is completed, it is then shipped.

This is pure speculation on my part but I does explain these crazy destinations.

I hate that I'm going down the rabbit hole on this but... if you look up the time zones and do the math, it doesn't add up to being a time zone issue. The Anchorage "Arrival Scan" on 9/19 at 1:46PM local time equates to 9/20 at 5:46AM in Shanghai, which is about 20 minutes before my UPS My Choice tracking shows a "Departure Scan" on 9/20 at 6:03AM from Shanghai. I called UPS to try to get a better estimate since I'll be going out of town, and of course they were of little help. However, the rep did tell me that the shipment never actually went to Anchorage or Korea, and that they are waiting for China to "release" the shipment. That was a few hours ago. The scans that we're seeing are for documentation for the shipment, not the actual shipment itself.

Im calling BS on UPS and "documentation". All of these scans line up with departing flights, except the arrivals to Korea. Infact i cant find a flight from Shanghai to Korea...Sounds to me like UPS overloaded some planes and were forced to leave containers sitting and waiting....

That's what I was speculating above in my previous post.

I wouldn't doubt it. Something weird must be going on, because I've seen plenty of posts here with totally normal looking shipment tracking. I'm going to force myself to stop obsessing and checking now, because I'm making myself crazy!

I totally agree - "documentation" should not be scanned as a location check-in.... right now my last location shows up as Korea!

pretty sure apple only sends new products by air.
They use airplanes.
[doublepost=1474404498][/doublepost]I've chatted with Apple who wasn't much help so called UPS. Got transferred to their Apple Dept. Who knew they had an Apple department. Anyway the confusion on Alaska is that time was an estimation when it would get there but as she pointed out there was no scan from there. Mine shows it left Korea but the lady said nothing is carved in stone and it won't be accurate till it really gets to our shores. So we sit and wait.

The Korea flight just landed in Alaska. We'll see if there's an update within the next couple of hours.

I too need to quit watching, and i would have had this gone like normal...

FYI,

UPS scans are not actual scans. They are auto generated as part of the scheduling. I have a friend who works for UPS and those arrival departure scans are just auto generated. Test it out sometime. Call UPS when you have a package coming and ask for instance how is it going to make it to me if its here (enter last departure scan location). They will explain it to you that those scans are generated automatically based on route plans.

I received a delivery notice from UPS for tomorrow. Had to have it held at a UPS store because it's the one day I won't be home in the morning :(
