    Title edit: Talk about creepy.

So we're sitting in our living room which has a big glass slider in the back with pull blinds that opens up to the backyard(condo complex). I was at the table, fiancee was on the couch right next to the window and I got up to go sit down and I saw a little "glow" out the window. I probably wouldn't of thought much of anything until it moved so I thought, oh cool "lightning bugs" but as I got closer the light hit the ground and slowly faded out. I then look up to see someone walking away!:eek: What I saw was his cigarette glowing.

I grabbed the flashlight but I couldn't see anything, I didn't want to open it in case he was a serial killer or something. This morning I checked and there are tons of ashes and butts out there so he was standing out there for a while just watching us. I feel so creeped out now.

that is freaky. I would let the police know and then take a pair of tweezers and put some of those butts into a zip locked bag just in case the cops ever need it for DNA.

Eh, takes too long to warm up, and you lose that element of surprise.

Yes, I'd go with the 7,200 rpm model.

Or, you could close your blinds after dark, like most people.

Though that may encourage the person to take a closer look.

Maybe you can leave your backyard lights turned on.

    Thank you for sharing. :p

They may not be allowed. Some condo's don't like owners wasting electricity.

I would get an outside light that turns on with movement, so you are warned if someone comes up to the house. Scary!

A decent set of curtains would be a cheaper - and quieter! - solution.

Failing that, you could follow Abstract's advice:

    Agreed.

As per the Gatling gun, it'd take too much time for spin up. However, if you want to be real creative, set this up without the siren and put it on night watch at 60,000 B/m.

I bet who ever the creep is won't come back for more.

Edit - All you will hear is the fart of the weapon which means it did its job.
