Just get a black one and change out the back to make it an oreo, then if the white one ever comes out this year you can pay full price for it after selling the black one at a minimal loss.

I've been patiently waiting for this stupid white ip4 to come out. I cant take using this LG Vu any longer. Even tho the black is the most common color, i may have to just settle down an get it, b/c there's no telling when this freaking white ip4 due 'later this year" is expected to come out. *Sigh* maybe i could buy the black one, wait 30 days then return it. maybe the white one will be out by then. or just get a freakin' BOLD.. smh idk.. anyone else still patiently waiting?

If I were you, I'd get the black one. It's really not worth it waiting for the color and missing out on all the fun you could be having with the iP4. With all decals, skins, wraps available you can customize your phone. Besides, there are white backplates available. Hybrids look pretty cool!

I know it is too much to ask with it being apple and all, but I wish they would just be honest about what is going on. They obviously had a batch of white iPhones they were happy with at one point because they pimped the white version very hard at the iP4 launch event. The white version was the version that was on hand for journalists to play with and photograph. What exactly happened from the point where they had that batch of acceptable whites made to now?

The manufacturing process started well before the launch event so whatever "difficulties" that arose should have been noticed and sorted out long ago. The perpetual delay is just plain weird.

Just take the friggin things off the website until they are ready to ship. I know they do not want to miss another release date, but as a consumer I would rather be given another possible release date instead of the "later this year" line. If it is going to be december just come out and say it already.

I was frustrated, but patiently waiting. THEN, as if my 3G [White ;_;] knew what was happening, it started getting really bad. There are big lines and spots of dead pixels [or something?] on my screen.

It's also started just shutting off [?] on me. I upgraded to iOS 4 despite knowing it might make the phone a pain in the ass. I just didn't know how much of a pain in the ass it would become. I realize that I can just downgrade to the previous iOS, but I just don't want to deal with this phone anymore.

I gave in and just ordered a black one. I REALLY REALLY wanted a white one, too. I am hoping to do as other said and sell it unlocked when the white is released. Maybe I can convince my girlfriend to ditch her blackberry and upgrade to the white one when it comes out.

Good luck replacing the back assembly. You've bought the glass only, not the actual back piece. You'll have to do the almost impossible and remove the black glass from your black frame and replace it. Also, it will still be black around the slight edges.
