The thread title says it all. Once again my nerdy co-workers and I are stumped on this one. I personally think that Superman would get owned by Vader.

okay i'll play...

i don't see how Vader would stand a chance against someone who only has one weakness, and its one that Vader would likely but unable to exploit.

if you made it Vader (w/ Kryptonite) Vs. Superman, then the former would surely win.

Theres no question. Vader wins. Let's see the man of steel fly when the force choke is asphyxiating his Krypton ass.

Superman. Vader doesn't really have the powers that Superman has but if Vader can control everything with the "force" then can he control Superman?

Edit: Lord Patton beat me to it.

Superman beats everything, but that is why no one likes him.

Darth Vader has flaws, and thus people can relate to his character. Also the Superman movies I have seen suck, and the original Star Wars were great, so I vote Vader. If I voted any other way, I would be disrespecting my username.

Superman.

Any Star Wars character is really pretty much pansy any way you look at it.

thats if Vader is powerful enough in the force to suffocate him and his dense/hard skin. still, Superman can hold his breath for extended periods of time, which would give him probably just enough time to melt Vader's mask enough to cause him to choke and die, since he is on a respirator and all.

But surely vader can block superman's eye lasers with the palm of his hand. His non-force choking hand, that is.

Boba Fett and Han Solo beg to differ

The only Alpha character in any of the films - originals or otherwise - was Samuel L. Jackson. They made Hayden look a little bada** when he finally changed over to the dark side, but even then he was still pansy-ish.

I say its a tie as both of their defenses out way their offenses.

1. Superman uses heat vision - Vader deflects with saber.
2. Vader uses choke hold - Superman too strong to choke.
3. Superman tries to punch Vader - Vader uses saber so Superman can't reach him without losing a limb.
4. Vader throws saber - Superman flies out of the way.
5. Superman throws a large object over Vader - Vader uses force to push it out of the way.

The way I see it something out of the ordinary has to occur for one to win. Either Vader gets a hold of Kryptonite, or Vader loses his lightsaber. Otherwise it is the first person to either make a mistake or lose endurance and give up.

Superman all the way.

Vader is an easily manipulated, not too bright, severely injured cyborg hopelessly wheezing and clunking around. Plus, he's heartbroken! All he's got left is "The Grip" and some clumsy remanent of swordsmanship.

Vader would have no chance at all.

Now Superman against:
Yoda, Mace Windu, Lord Sidious (Palpatine), Count Dooku, Qui-Gon Jin, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous or even Darth Maul.....

Absolutely cut to ribbons. They'd be picking tattered shreds of Super Mincemeat out of the Phone Booth for weeks.

Even Avon from Blake's 7 could probably get the drop on the Man of Steel.

Have Fun,
Keri

PS> Jar Jar Binks could probably defeat Superman by accident.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Depends on what the writer(s) decide(s) to do.

Here's the fun part..... WE are the Writers Here!

I choose Avon from Blakes 7 as my Warrior Avatar. No super powers, no "Force", just Skepticism, sharp Wit and a Fast Draw. Oh. And a Glove.

Have Fun,
Keri
