I think a little app to get rid of artwork in bulk (go through the library and delete artwork from any tracks that have it) would be a lot more useful for me... If such a thing exists I'd very much appreciate linkage! :D

It's not that the Amazon art is bad. It's just that I prefer the highest quality artwork I can find. Here's an example of the difference, in a screenshot of iTunes in Cover Flow with your window to the right:
Ok, it's just that I only use it for iPod, so I don't really need HQ :)

I'm sorry, I must have misinterpreted your calm and friendly "But again, I'm only speaking for myself." If you're only speaking for yourself, there's no need to post for us ;)

You're not very good at this whole "posting in a public forum" thing.

Guess you're not the guy to have a 'conversation about dashboard' with.

Here's what I've got:

  • iTunes widget (I know, I know, it's pretty broken. But I occasionally use it, although I usually just use my Quicksilver keyboard triggers)
  • Weather (especially useful when you include the lows in the 6-day forecast and expand it to show the 6-day)
  • Calendar (discovered not so obvious functionality that if you click it, a third pane pops up showing your next few upcoming iCal events that day! Very useful! Picture 1.png
  • To Do, a great To Do list widget that accesses your iCal and Mail to-dos
  • And finally, today I added Delivery Status to stay updated and get Growl notifications on my SL update! (And a mini-DVI to video adapter, it's the first time I'll have equipment to hook my computer up to a TV, I'm excited to use it with Hulu Desktop!)

Now we're getting somewhere!

The iCal with ToDo isn't half bad ...

I mostly use stickies, calculator and istat, but sometimes exchange rate and weather forecast in dashboard

Gee, thanks.

EDIT - Why is asking for some opinions such a mortal sin in this thread?

Asking for opinions isn't a problem. Expecting others to "sell" you on how to use your own computer doesn't make sense. Then, when people gave you their opinions, instead of thanking them, you challenged what people were doing with Dashboard, trying to make it sound like they were stupid for their methods. If you don't like getting people's opinions, don't ask for them!

After updating with the latest service pack from Microsoft, Spaces and (at least) Word seem to work together ok. Previously, if you switched spaces and then came back, the little floating toolbar would go blank, and you'd have to click on it to restore it to normal.

I was just checking a document last night though, and it seemed to switch back and forth with no trouble.

well i tried to update through the microsoft updater thing, but apparently there are no updates available for me. running the latest office. how odd..
