Posted here about this before but now on 3rd iPhone 13 still an issue:
I’m on my 3rd iPhone 13, first 2 we’re pro models. Currently have the regular 13. Love the phone but wtf is up with the data dropping randomly? I’ve had devices that will drop the WiFi occasionally but the cellular data seamlessly picks right up and it’s not any issue. 3 iPhones in a row tho? I don’t want to return the 3rd phone because if I do I won’t be getting another. Hoping another beta update fixes the problem. I’ve seen very little talk about this problem, maybe one or two posts, so I don’t think it’s widespread at all. The first 2 pros I left on 15.3 for a few days and still had the issue. They came from Apple and the 3rd one I got thru Verizon hoping for some better luck. Wasted hopes there. This is only my 4th day on this one and has dropped my data both WiFi and cellular maybe half a dozen times. Fingers crossed but hopes are beginning to fade.
I’ve tried factory resets, network resets (at least 5 or 6 times). My 2020SE is running 15.4 flawlessly. Been to the Apple geniuses and they don’t know. I’ve talked to Apple at least 10 times since the first phone arrived. My pixel 4a drops WiFi once in awhile but cellular data picks right up so no problem. I need to reread my Verizon return policy so I don’t wait to long but hoping for a fix. What luck 3 in a row, sheesh
Maybe 13 is bad luck?

My 13 Pro does the same sometimes. I do hope that they get it worked out too. I cycle my mobile netw off/on and it kicks back in.

Sorry to hear you also have the issue but it makes me feel better at least I’m not the only one, lol. Toggling airplane mode quickly off anon does the trick but unfortunately if the phone is just sitting on the table say and you’re not getting your information coming through because the data has dropped you don’t know until you pick it up. I use WhatsApp with several people and with no data it no workie So no messages get through. Hoping next Beta helps

I also have this issue where cellular data seems to freeze. I’m on tmobile and Verizon. I’ve found turning off 5G seems to make it stable but obviously I’d rather be able to use 5G.

Yeah I've tried turning off 5G also and made no difference. I'm about out of things to try. Verizon has a restocking fee I forgot about, S**T!! I can get a replacement but doubtful that would help anyway. I'm missing incoming texts (WhatsApp) sometimes. Not cool.

Without reading too much. I’d say odds are after 3 phones. That the phone isn’t the cause of the issue.

Don’t know what else it could be. Drops are totally random. All other electronics in the house using the same Wi-Fi are working fine. The difference is every time the cellular data does not pick up when the Wi-Fi is lost. All other devices in the house do.
My theory may be wrong but is this:
When data is lost the Wi-Fi indicator at the top remains on and Wi-Fi shows connected in settings. The phone is faked out into thinking the Wi-Fi is fine so cellular data doesn’t take over. It remains this way until I toggle either Wi-Fi or airplane mode.

Have you tried enabling Wi-Fi assist ON in Cellular settings?

I had this back on my 11 Pro Max and had it replaced twice. When I upgraded to my 13 Pro I set it up as new in case there was something in the settings that was doing it and I didn’t want it to carry over to the new phone. It still does it occasionally. I’m going to say it’s a big somewhere in the phone software at this point.

Interesting, I agree it’s a bug in the software somewhere. Aficionados such as those frequenting forums such as this one might be more inclined to notice bugs than the average joes and janes going about their day, so perhaps this isn’t even on Apple ‘s radar. Via a chat feature I spoke to tech support and they were totally clueless about it, said return for replacement, this is my 3rd, Lol.
The one thing I have not tried is starting from scratch from a fresh install, however, I transfered my setup from a 2020SE that ran flawlessly so doubtful a fresh install would make a difference.

This just happened to me this morning on my 13 pro max with Verizon. Never happened before.

UPDATE: OK, I think I may have found the issue that was causing the data to drop on my 13.
If those of you having the same issue want to give it a try it would be interesting to see if it helps others.
My data drops were happening numerous times a day, at least 5 or 6 times throughout my day. I've been tweaking settings and I seem to have hit on something. This is going to sound counter intuitive but here it is:
In settings under cellular, scroll down to wifi assist and turn it off. Like I said sounds counter intuitive but it is working for me, haven't had a drop in two days.
When the wifi either hiccups or is to weak the cellular signal is supposed to pick up but the bug is... it doesn't and for some reason the wifi won't pick back up either, weird, until it is toggled.
For me, this only happened at home since that is the only wifi I use.

I have applecare so it wasn’t a huge deal to get a new one, thankfully, at now cost but the first thing they asked was if I had reset the phone and set it up as new. That was on my 11 Pro Max. It didn’t help. It’s very random too.

Like I said, my 13 Pro was set up as new, and I had a brand new SIM card for it, not my old one I’d had for a few years (just in case it was a problem with the sim). Even so, once a week I usually have to toggle airplane mode because I’m getting an error in safari that I don’t have an internet connection. It’s been an issue for me for a good year and a half with different devices.

I haven’t had a drop since I installed the 15.4 beta 3. It’s been almost a week now.

With data dropped what do the bars show ?
I’ve noticed lack of data at times since using the iPhone 13 pro max here in the UK even when bars are showing full strength. Messages don’t send browsing stalls etc. never had this issue in the USA , but then again used the device primarily on Wi-Fi there.

WiFi and cellular bars show normally. Go into settings and wifi shows connected. I believe the problem stems from the cellular data not picking up when wifi is lost and it doesn't reconnect without either toggling wifi or airplane mode.
If wifi is turned off cellular data does not drop at all. It seems to be a wifi connection issue. Funny thing is it will be fine for a few days then just acts up randomly. The latest 15.4 beta 3 seemed to help for several days then not so much.

Thanks for the clarification. My Wi-Fi was enabled but not connected at the time. Meaning I hadn’t signed into it. If that makes a difference. I’ll keep a further eye on it, since my observation were until you mentioned Wi-Fi primarily regarding cell data issues. Thanks.

I’ve the same problem. iPhone shows connected to wifi but no internet connection at all. I also tried to open router settings when the problem shown and can’t load that internal site either. It’s connected to wifi with all bars but no connection whatsoever.

It happens in two different networks but same ISP and Arris routers. Strangely all others devices work like a charm in those networks including iPad and MacBook. Also this 13 PM also works okay with other ISP and routers. It’s random and can work many days ok and then problem starts. It piss me off to unblock phone to realize that it’s supposedly connected but can’t update anything. If I disable and enable wifi it starts working all right. Or If I wait over a minute with wifi connected it also starts working again.

It’s a like firmware issue with iPhone and Arris router.

Anyone sent these phones to have it checked by Apple? Maybe a faulty wifi chip?

Went to Genius Bar, they were clueless. Called Apple, also clueless. They just keep sending me phones. 3rd one still has problem. I give up. It’s not the WiFi , it’s the phone definitely. Happens to my 13 about 4 to 6 times per day. Never when in use so that’s not an issue and cellular data is fine. If I turn off WiFi there is no issue. Toggle airplane and it’s fixed instantly. Next time I’ll try letting it sit and see if it comes back on its own.

I will say since turning off Wifi Assist, I haven’t had it happen. So maybe that is the issue after all?

I tried wifi assist on/off several times, no help. Seemed to work for awhile then not. I'm hopeful tho as the past two days straight no drops. Hope I didn't just jinx myself. ??

I sent mine to AASP (In Chile we don't have Apple office) and I'll let you know the findings. I hope they can change Wi-Fi module.
Did you find out anything? Still suffering with the sporadic data drops here. Again my problem is a quick WiFi interruption followed by a failed cellular data takeover. It appears to me the device just loses its WiFi connection and nothing is the matter with my WiFi service. A manual reconnect is the only fix.

The iPhone passed all hardware tests including wifi chip. The only warning was software because I was using a beta version.

Yesterday a friend came to my home and his iPhone 12 suffered from the very same issue as us. Wifi drop while other devices are working perfectly. It’s strange because my partner has an iPhone 11 Pro Max and his device doesn’t suffer from this issue.

In my case I think it’s a firmware problem between iPhone 12 and 13 and the router that my ISP uses, a Arris.

Why I think this? Because this same iPhone works flawlessly in others wifi with others routers. Also older iPhones work right with this Arris router.

Do you experience this wifi problem in all networks or only at your house?
