Yeah, all the devices on my Wi-Fi at my house work flawlessly. Probably half a dozen. My home Wi-Fi is the only Wi-Fi I use. I wouldn't even need to use it except the Verizon data speed here is kind of slow.
I would try another Wi-Fi network someplace else except I would have to sit there until it failed. Could take minutes or it could take hours. I may need to try this though just to rule that possibility out. I think it is definitely a software issue something to do with holding on to the connection and being unable to reconnect automatically after losing it like all other phones are able to do and furthermore for some reason it prevents the cellular data from taking over. A real head scratcher why that happens.
It wouldn't bother me so much except I rely on WhatsApp quite a bit and it runs on data and I will receive no messages without a data connection. When the phone is sitting on the table idle I have no idea if it has a data connection or not without checking it, and if it is okay I can always lose it the minute I walk away from the phone. A real pain in the butt for sure. If it wasn't for the WhatsApp I wouldn't care. Other than that it's a great phone, haha ?
Just an observation but when I leave the house it disconnects from the Wi-Fi and when I return it reconnects before I even walk in the door. Flawlessly, so WTF?

The iPhone passed all hardware tests including wifi chip. The only warning was software because I was using a beta version.

Yesterday a friend came to my home and his iPhone 12 suffered from the very same issue as us. Wifi drop while other devices are working perfectly. It’s strange because my partner has an iPhone 11 Pro Max and his device doesn’t suffer from this issue.

In my case I think it’s a firmware problem between iPhone 12 and 13 and the router that my ISP uses, a Arris.

Why I think this? Because this same iPhone works flawlessly in others wifi with others routers. Also older iPhones work right with this Arris router.

Do you experience this wifi problem in all networks or only at your house?

I had the issue on my 11 Pro Max, enough that it was AppleCare’d for it. And the replacement did it too. Same with my 13 Pro…until I turned off wifi assist. It’s been fine since.

Yeah I had a 13 pro max that did it which I returned for a 13 which did it which I returned for another 13 that is also doing it. I ran some more tests using only WiFi, no cellular and data drops maybe 6 times a day average. Took it off WiFi and found even cellular data(Verizon)would also drop at least 6 times a day if not more. I’ve tried WiFi assist off and on several times, no joy there. The first time I tried WiFi assist off I thought I fixed it because I had no issues for 3 full days before it started in again. Apple does not offer any solution and has no clue it is even happening and Genius Bar is the same cluelessness there as well. I’m waiting for iOS 16 to see if it fixes it. In the meantime I’m back on my trustworthy pixel as it just works and that’s what I need is a device I can trust. I’m not buying anymore iPhones. Pretty disappointed in this pos phone that cost me numerous return hassles as well as $830 including the case.
Edit: a couple of interesting observations I have made, when the data drops whether it's cellular or from my modem at home the phone still indicates it's connected. Also, if I let it sit it will eventually reconnect and start working. Really don't know what to make of it. Counting on iOS 16.
