I read the above posts incorrectly. I apologize. I somehow read the OP was looking for no data when in fact he's searching for data only. Proves I should slow down and read.
(FYI:
I was able to get a ghost line (second phone line) with AT&T with a first generation iPhone. The store activated the SIM card, handling the iPhone and I finished the activation at home.
$9.95 a month for 200 texts and phone (no data).
It couldn't be done with a used 3G I had but with the 2G it could.)
