As of late 2015, which was the last time I looked there was a hardware issue with iPhones that couldn't take advantage. Instead of being a tool about it, why not just state your case?

Becuase voice and data have been available on the iPhone on Verizon since 2014 with the 6 and 6 Plus models. And if I was being a tool I would point out you were wrong again. But I am not a tool, so I won't say that.

Hrmm... this sounds like Affordable Care Act, except people actually want to jump on the Unlimited plan even if they won't use it all.

Speak for yourself. The affordable health care act saved my life. I'm not the only one. I'm not jumping on these plans. I pay TMobile $80 a month for two lines 5 gigs of lte and unlimited the rest. T-Mobile doesn't count video or music against the caps.

Cricket wireless if you want to save a little [̲̅$̲̅(̲̅1̲̅)̲̅$̲̅]
A few months ago, after my Verizon contract expired I started looking into prepaid plans as I was paying ~$70/month on a 2-year contract subsidized phone plan for unlimited talk and text and 2GB data. After tons of research I found a plan through a Walmart exclusive company called "Total Wireless". I was able to bring my Verizon 6+ and pay only $35/month for unlimited talk/text and 5GB of LTE data. It also runs on Verizon's network. They also offer multiple-line plans and phone leasing programs and a 5% autopay discount. Long story short, I swallowed my pride and went with a Walmart plan on Verizon's network to cut my bill in half and gain more than double the data. I believe the speeds are capped but I haven't noticed any difference. Once your data runs out they don't throttle the speed (they shut it off) but offer a $10 add-on plan that gives you an additional 3GB LTE data that rolls over if unused as long as you keep active service (5GB plan data doesn't roll over). I had to sacrifice Verizon exclusive things like visual voicemail etc but was worth cutting my bill in half and keeping the same reliable network. I don't see them advertise at all (especially compared to Walmart's other company StraightTalk) but wish more people knew about it as I've been more than happy with it. It may not be for everyone but feel like it should be worth a look.

I understand alot of people are comparing Verizon and T-Mobile, but alot of people fail to remember that even though $160 for 4 lines on Verizon sounds good, it's not. Remember Verizon charges $20 per line as a "Smartphone access fee". That $160 easily goes up to $240. Not including the phones as payments. No one is bringing up that access fee.

That is not exactly true anymore with this plan.

Single Line Plan for $80 after a $5 Auto-Pay & Paper free billing discount ($85 without Auto-Pay & Paper free billing) It is broken out as $65 for the Plan and $20 for the Access Fee.

Just switched from ATT over the weekend.

Looks like the post police and thin-skin crowd is out again on MR.

You can call it whatever you want. Until carriers display more transparency, "de-prioritizing" is a just a simple code word for throttling.

Sorry it bothers you so much.

I have yet to be "throttled" by T-Mobile so what you are saying is incorrect. No slow downs or anything over 28gb. So they are being honest.

Don't you have to opt. in to HD video on T-Mobile also? There was a big discussion about if you would have to toggle it once a day/month until T-Mobile stated you only had to turn it off once.

Yes, T-Mobile throttles video to a crawl regardless of how much data you have used for the month. However, I use over 22gb every month and they never throttle me for regular internet use. Perhaps it is because I'm not in a congested area? Also, T-Mobile throttles tethering to .5mbps. Much too slow to even use YouTube. If you can deal with the slow video and throttling, it's the best deal at $40 per phone in a family plan including fees.

Don't forget TMobile also offers a kickback plan of $10/p/m for those who use less than 2gig/m. So I have 6 people on my plan, and 4 of us use less than 2g, so I'll be paying exactly $160 for six lines, or $26.67/p/m.

On top of that, my wife and I use about 100gigs/m between the two of us because we've canceled out home Internet, saving us another $100/m.

It's an insane deal.

Not my experience at all and T-Mobile gives 10gb for tethering. I go at least into the 30's every month and after 4 days this month have used 6gb.

I have never had any problems with videos, stream a lot, and now video streams are wide open.

It may be worth noting that Verizon gives you 10 gb of full speed tethering per month before they throttle (T-Mobile gives you 0.5mbps). Also, their prices are pretty close to T-Mobile. T-Mobile needs to kick up their tethering speeds up a little.

So you get 10gb of full speed tethering? I must be on the wrong plan.

Edit... you're right! I need to figure out how to get it.

Yea, our home internet went to crap here and we have the same 100 for two unlimited. Its way faster than the home internet was when it worked and we are in a small place.

Yes. Give them a call, they will straighten it out. Also full hd videos.

I contacted them through twitter as soon as it started. They can do it there also.

100.00 a month 2 lines.

We are using it in mexico. Very small pueblo. Had about .5 megabit speed, get about 20 by phone.

T-Mobile Tuesdays should definitely be factored into any cost savings too. I've received hundreds of dollars in Lyft rides, movie tickets, movie rentals and food. Also there are other prizes, discounts on gas sometimes too. I don't take advantage of everything, but even for the stuff I do, it all adds up.

Today was large papa john's pizzas, not innthe us though.

Doesn't the new Verizon unlimited plan have Mexico and Canada calling and data (500MB/Day) included? I don't travel so I didn't pay much attention.

I believe so. Canada isn't as important to me now, but it was for many years up until a couple of months ago.

The Verizon "service" in Canada is spotty anyway, particularly on the voicemail indicator on my iPhone. Point that out to Verizon, they will blame the Canadian carrier. That's when I reminded them my company was paying Verizon and not that Canadian provider. Verizon's response was the kind that helped me make my decision easier.

T-Mobile's coverage may still lag, but they appear to be hungry and trying.

Now is this data limit per line or for the entire account? Say I have four different lines to each of them get 20ish GB of data before being de-prioritized or is it 20ishGB of data for the entire account?

Which city are you in? For most cities Tmobile is on par with Verizon now. Also, if your smart phone doesnt support Band 12, your coverage will be less on Tmobile.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus, so apparently I do not have Band 12 support. That explains a lot, I was not aware of that with T-Mobile.

Thanks for the post.

They actually do count all the binge on data against the 28gb de-prioritaztion cap.

https://www.t-mobile.com/company/company-info/consumer/internet-services.html
"Data features that may not count against the high-speed data allotment for some plans, such as certain data associated with Music Freedom, or Binge On, still counts towards all customers’ usage for this calculation."

Indeed. A Twitter DM conversation with T-Mo support said the same thing.

T-Mobile rocks if you're close to a major city. I travel so SC a lot and T-Mobile was just so inconsistent for me. Verizon has superior coverage, hands down. I don't get why people keep complaint about the technicality of "unlimited." I mean they never said 4G LTE unlimited so they could give you 3G speeds and still be technically correct Just look at it as 22gb for 80 rather then like 150$

I just had to switch on the new promo. Thanks for the heads up. Hd video is now free and I get 10gb of full speed tethering.

An excellent plan but not sure I want to give up visual voice mail.

Last week, after 11 years, I jumped from Verizon to T-Mobile. I live in a major U.S. city, and I definitely notice a difference in the network. I have been reading about how T-Mo's network has gotten better, etc. If this is better, than I shudder to think what it was before. Seeing one bar (button) on the signal indicator on my iPhone, outdoors, in the middle of open space downtown? Really?

Yeah... T-Mobile can sometimes be worse than Verizon in some areas.

All this said, T-Mo is saving me significant money over my grandfathered unlimited data plan and grandfathered calling plan (needed for Canada) on Verizon.

So you're paying less... but it sounds like it's also a worse product according to your statement above.

Is it really a good deal then?

I would honestly expect the better product to have a higher price. And therefore the extra cost is justified.

Per line.
