About a year ago when I purchased an iPad, I (stupidly) gave up my unlimited data plan for the plan that allowed my phone to act as a wireless hotspot.

Fortunately, my wife's unlimited data plan stayed intact. I just checked, and I use between 3 and 4 GB per month. Last month, my wife didn't even make it to 1 GB.

Do you think AT&T would possible consider letting us switch our data plans?
 
I seriously doubt it, but the best way to get the answer is to call the carrier.
 
I wonder if they'd let you switch or change phone numbers? Then you could just swap SIM cards after and it should give the same end result.
