During the update to the latest version of iOS, my iPhone ran out of storage. As a result, iOS removed several apps to free up space and later reinstalled most of them automatically from the App Store. However, one voice recording app has since been removed from the App Store and therefore could not be reinstalled.
The problem is that I can no longer access the recordings that were stored in that app. Unfortunately, some of them are extremely important, including recordings from my wedding.
What’s interesting is that the app’s data still appears to be on the device. In Settings → General → iPhone Storage, the missing app is still listed and continues to occupy several gigabytes of storage. This makes me believe that the app’s data container is still present, but the executable itself is gone.
Does anyone know of a way to recover or access these files? For example, using a PC or Mac, Finder/iTunes backups, AFC, third-party recovery software, or any tool capable of accessing an app’s container?
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows of a possible workaround?
I’d be incredibly grateful for any advice or suggestions.
