I'm coming from android so I apologize if this is a simple fix.
I'm getting large data spikes while I'm sleeping.
I'm connected to wifi.
How do I fix this? Here's a sample list of data spikes...

Are these listed like this on the bill, or thru your phone/an app?

If it is the bill, I believe, and sometimes i see this, the dont bill the exact time you used data. Example, i streamed spotify from 1pm -3pm monday, on my bill the data didnt show I used until 10:30 pm that night.

Go into settings > General > Background App Refresh.

Make sure those are turned off or just turn on the ones you really need.

Dont worry you wont be charged for this. Apple has been doing this since day one of the iphone.

That is all of the data scraped by carrier iq and similar programs run to gather all of your data, shopping, location, and what have you, then upload to apple servers at night.

Dont worry, Tim says the N5A cant get at it....

What applications are listed in Background App Refresh? Also depending on your usage this could be an iCloud backup, but I presume you are talking about downloads rather than uploads.

reset cellular statistics (Settings > Cellular, scroll to the bottom). delete all applications running in the background (double click home, swipe up all applications). do a hard reset (hold sleep/wake button and home button until the iPhone shuts off). plug it into a wall charger and go to bed. In the morning, go back to your cellular data and see what applications were running and how much data was used.

Thanks for the replies.
My background app refresh has been off since I got the phone (2 weeks)
