Well, not literally ... but launchd and systemuiserver started using 100% of CPU right when this happened. I found this on Console, over and over again:

09-11-01 1:20:16 AM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.newsyslog) Throttling respawn: Will start in 1 seconds

I disabled automatic date and time update and removed date and time from my menubar, which has alleviated the issue, but once I put date and time back on the menubar, it flares up again.

Please help, if only because it's the only clock I have right now!!

Same thing happened to me. Exactly when the time went back 1 hour, all my macs immediately started going crazy in terms of CPU usage. This is a major bug and Apple needs to issue a fix immediately.

Hmmm, my Mac still hasn't reached critical mass.... erm... uhm, I mean the moment where time is switched back.

Same problem here. Had absolutely no idea why my fans were going crazy even after restarting the computer. A quick Google search led me here, sure enough, it was the date/time on the menu bar.

Edit: Problem went away right after 2 AM. Still an incredibly silly bug though.

You could resort to iStat Menus...which is why I never I've never encountered this issue before.
