There is a difference between stuck and dead pixels.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant stuck pixel since it's red. I am going to try the massage method and the program. Any other hints?

I'll let everyone know if it works or not. If it doesn't it goes back to Best Buy.

Instead of complaining about dead pixels why dont you try to revive them!
this app jscreenfix worked for me when i had dead pixels.
its easy and only takes 20 minutes for most people
try it if you want.

JscreenFix

This is for stuck pixels, not dead pixels. You cannot "revive" dead pixels.

Apple has a 15 day no questions asked return policy. You can take your macbook(s) back in and return them for any reason during this period...There is no reason to spend 1600 on a laptop and not have it be perfect....IMHO

I tried jfix for the pixels for over an hour. Both red pixels still remain. Back to Best Buy.

I've never been able to fix a dead pixel. I've used prpgrams and the massage method but I will try on this one.

Massaging won't work, as the glass is a few mm from you and the LED screen. I am on my 3rd aluminum macbook and this one STILL has a dead pixel, but i accepted it because it is green and only visible on white backgrounds. i can't find it unless using a pixel program.

3rd Alu Macbook? Ffs... I'm still waiting for my first. That's tough luck for you. I never had a stuck pixel on my Macs. iPods are a different story. Everyone has had a stuck sub-pixel but it's so tiny that you can barely see it.

GAH! So I had my MacBook for over a week and last night I noticed a red stuck sub-pixel in the lower third middle of the screen. It certainly wasn't there before. I've tried all kinds of videos, online pixel fixers. I tried massaging it although it's kinda hard because of the plexi cover on the screen (it certainly isn't glass, lol). I am able to get the oils moving and the screen changes color when I press hard enough but the darn thing won't go away!

It's kinda flickering there too, kinda like it's about to go away. I left a pixel fixer video looping for the whole night and day but no, it's still there. Pisses me off.

Was lucky and didn't get any problem pixels with my G4 iBook, which I've owned happily for three+ years now. My unibody had a dead pixel an inch below the iSight where the address bar in Safari usually ends up, so I've got a re-order in.

Unfortunately, that means waiting another week.

How were you able to get a replacement? Was it a 14-day return policy or something? Do you have to send your MacBook first or do they drop off the new one and pick up the old one?

Joshua.

I ordered through my campus computer store. I told them I wasn't happy with it and they said the best they could do was re-order a new one. They took the Macbook back.

I'm happy to be able to say that mine has no stuck or dead pixels. It does sometimes have the already notoir clickpad problems, as well as slightly slanted keys (but only the Shift and Backspace keys). Overall, I'm thrilled with my MacBook. Really nice machine.
