anybody knows that the new 2013 27" displays are different from the 2012?
maybe apple fixed this issues with the 27" in this refresh

I bought a pre-owned 2012 iMac recently and only when I cleaned the screen thoroughly did I notice a dead pixel.

Still had warranty, so took it to the local apple store and they replaced the screen.

Come on guys you are freaking me out.. Where I live it's 3-4 weeks to get a customized iMac... Another 3-4 weeks to replace it... If I get dead pixels I'm done

To pass some time during my lunch break today I took a stroll into the West 14th Street Apple Store in New York and "examined" each and every 27" that was on display (they were the base 27" with the 755m). I was the weirdo with a white Safari window moving it all around every corner of the screen staring really close - then repeating it on every 27" iMac . Other than being a bit dirty, they all looked totally fine to me. Not sure if this helps!

nice to hear that...maybe after returns of a lot of 27" screens with issues they do more QA

Of course the kit on show is probably carefully picked for display. I remember everyone moaning about getting iPhone 5's with nicks and scratches, but in store devices were perfect.

Just saying.

1/6 of my screens pixels dont work dont kno how to get it fixed since i moved to dubai please help

Phone applecare in Dubai and they'll organise getting it fixed.

According to several Apple reps I talked to, it actually isn't anymore.

AFAIK the policy hasn't changed. Mobile devices have a no dead pixel policy, computers are allowed some dead pixels. In practice though, they'll likely replace it if you're unhappy.
