I just got a 2nd hand iPhone 8 256gb model from a shop that sells used phones.

looks great but then I noticed when on a dark screen that the lcd panel has one dead pixel located centre left a bit down from the top.

I can't un-notice it now unfortunately, which is a shame as the rest of the screen looks great (even backlight, not bleed, no random yellow marks).

its still under warranty with Apple obviously. Will Apple do anything about it?

I didn't really want to return it to the shop as I got a good deal.

Thanks

I think I will.

It's only one pixel but it really is quite obvious when you put it against a black background.

Never had a dead pixel on an iPhone before, quite disappointed.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this and if Apple replace just the screen (breaking water proof seal?) or swapped the whole phone out?

In dark room and light room . Can't get it to focus but you get the idea.

Assuming this second hand iPhone 8 from the third party store doesn't have any aftermarket parts (I.e. Display for example), Apple can issue a replacement device after inspection.

Is a new device really, so no 3rd party parts. Someone must of sold it on as soon as they got it.

So they would issue a whole new device, not just replace the screen?
[doublepost=1516954825][/doublepost]Also it would seem it's a stuck pixel not a dead one as it lights up still?

Thanks

If they have screens available you’ll get a screen replacement. If screens aren’t available at the store you’ll get a replacement device
