I have a 16Gb Touch which has a perfect screen, and an 8Gb iPhone with a stuck pixel, only shows up with a black background, but annoying to the perfectionist in me, and someone overly precious about their stuff

I'm trying not to feel too bad as I got the iPhone at th O2 discounted price, but I'm just disappointed that the quality isn't PERFECT.

I've no idea what the rates of bad pixels is, but I'm planning to upgrade to the 3G model as my long term phone, and I'll be gutted if it has a stuck pixel.

I had no idea they were so common. I was fortunate. My wife got me my 32Gb for my birthday last month and it has a flawless screen (after several checks with various methods).

On the topic of scratches. I'm super paranoid about them so I use a Sena stand case (folio) in addition to the protective film covers.

Peace

For the record, I've had my iPod touch for about 3 weeks, and I only have the Incase silicone sleeve on it, no screen protection. The other day I even put some change in the same pocket, and later freaked out realizing my 500 dolor baby was in that pocket - however I was, once again, amazed at the small device. No scratches what-so-ever. No screen protection for 3 weeks with no scratches here. Can't say that for my last 5 iPods that HAD screen protection. This is a high quality product.

Oh, and I did notice some dead pixels on the screen, but in normal use, and becuase the pixel density is so high on these screens, you can't really tell during normal use - unless you are looking for them.

[What IS annoying however Is the dead pixel that Apple refuses to fix on my MBP screen. ]

I haven't noticed any dead or stuck pixels on mine.

I just ordered an Invisible Shield for the front of the Touch. I didn't get the full body since there is no need to really worry about the back as it won't effect the performance of the system. I also ordered a full body for my wife's Nano and another one for my PSP screen. :D
