It's actually a Price Hike, they were $420 all the way through the Prime days.

I think you're seeing it more because Apple is clearly transitioning. Just slowly. And nobody wants to buy something now when they know the connector transition will be complete in a year or 2.
For example, it's dissapointing that they seem to be going all in on usb-c now, but a month ago they made sure to launch their flagship devices (iPhone & Airpods) with the stupid lightning port.
Mine are still good after approximately 1.5 years. Just put them on and press play, baby.

Next generation AirPods Max has to do lossless. Even if it needs a proper cord to do it.

I grabbed a pair of pink/orange/red ones a few months back for $429 and worth every shiny penny. I have hearing lose so tv/music is at 11 when I’m listening and these bring world peace to my partner. love the auto connect to Apple TV, I hover around 70% volume. Wish I bought them two years ago instead of fighting with the Pros for so long.
I paid full price + tax + Apple Care when they came out. I love them and consider them to be a great deal!
Good discount. $399 would have been better. Might see this price during Christmas.
One of my favorite Apple products of all time. I own 10+ headphones/earbuds, but use these the most.
For deals, also check Craigslist and Best Buy open box (mine). Can be found for $325. But I’d pay full price. Will buy the new ones and pass mine on. I have no complaints whatsoever. I adore them, even with all their supposed “flaws”. To each their own.

I’m worried they might be like the original HomePod: an amazing product that never hit the numbers. But if there’s an update, I’ll be first in line.
I use Bose. There’s no reason on Earth to pay an extra $100-$150 more on a pair of headsets that simply say “Apple” on it. I have the watch, airpods, iPhone Pro Max 14. Sorry, but the AirPods Max is a moronic overpay. It’s even more ridiculous than the Apple HomePod, which was another STUPID overpay for a product you can get cheaper and better with Bose.
