Not Worth $453.82!!! IMHO Maybe $199.99 without Tax then I would think about it...
You’re very brave to be so open in exhibiting a complete ignorance of audio equipment, and its corresponding cost

I got a pair for my mom and the sound was much louder from the left than the right, it was very annoying. Not sure if it was a defective pair but I returned them. The audio sounded nice, but id rather put that kind of money elsewhere.
They were defective, easy and quick replacement. Judging a product on a single, atypical issue is not smart

After they announced that you can’t use them to listen to the very high quality lossless format on a Mac, even hooked on with a cable, I think they shot themselves in the foot. Massive cans limited by Bluetooth audio.

You should probably do a little more research about the quality of sound using the cable, and how lossless equates to little more than a technicality than a discernible difference

Anyone know if the microphones in these are absolutely garbage like all other Apple Bluetooth mics?

Edit: nevermind, found the answer. As usual the Apple product sounds like warmed over dog poo lol what a joke.

still way overpriced as others are saying. it also doesn’t help that they are insanely ugly

Got mine last week through ebay - for £400 - new unopened. repalcing bowers&wilkins PX.

So far the volume is very low compared to what I've used in the past. I have to set volume to 75% for decent sound, whereas before 50% was more than plenty compared to the B&W's.

Slight tweak - :D

In all seriousness, I really hope they release a version of these that are lighter.

I realize some users don't find it to be a problem....but man...I was at Best Buy the other day and decided to spend a fresh 20mins with them again (former owner - sold mine) and good lord - I was SO happy to get that boat anchor off my head.

It's subjective - I get it - I just hate it.
Sounds great - way too heavy for me.

For me, over ears are mainly used for travel and so the weight/comfort piece has to be totally ace...
and the APMs just aren't (for me - and my head)
I just flew NY to Rome. Wore them the whole flight. No issues. I do imagine the XM4’s would be more comfortable though.

Here is my review:

These are not bad but it won't do lossless with either the wired lighting cable or $35 dollar lighting to headphone jack that was disappointing. It feels a bit heavy, they move around too much to walk around, and they are not as comfortable as reviewers say, volume is a bit on the low side, and sound quality is good but not amazing compared to cheaper headphones. They sound and feel better than Beats Studio Pro.

This is probably the most perfect and succinct review of these I have seen.

Matches perfectly with my experience

Are you serious? If so, then you have a near complete lack of knowledge of audio equipment
How about you share it with us since you seem to be well versed in their regard.

FYI if that matters, I spend a lot of time with audio engineers and audiophiles doing their thing and never ever seen one wearing those.
I will be happy to let them know what you will say and we can go from there.

A cursory Google search will save both you and me the time, negating the need for such transparent and backhanded attempts at confrontation 🙂

Pretty rich coming from the guy who popped off with lines like this:

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, because their comments were objectively absurd, so it’s either ignorance, or provocation. Either way, the response was tame and direct, not backhanded. Perhaps reconsider the meaning of sentences before being sarcastic? (That was backhanded, btw)

AirPods Max are only sold for really rich people, or well off apple fanboys who will buy anything apple, paying $200 more for marginal improvements just because there is an apple logo on it.
Buying a 550 product doesn’t make you rich. If you want amazing sounding headphones and use them all the time it might be worth it

I might jump on a pair for $300-$350 but I don’t need them and they feel like an OG HomePod or Apple Watch; too niche of a luxury and plagued with issues, might as well wait for a version with broader appeal. If that means glossy white plastic earcups to match the rest of the AirPods, so be it.

EDIT: Popped on over to colorware to visualize a cheaper/lighter plastic variant and honestly I don’t hate it.

Had Apple eliminate the own goals here - real case, off button, instead of getting cute and innovative with dumb features nobody wants, then they'd be completely justifiable at 450ish. It puts them in the category of the H9 3rd gen, which is a fair comparable.

Yes, I really HATE that it doesn't have an off button. Give me an off button so i can easily shut it off when I know I won't use it in for a few days....I don't need it to decide for me that it should go into deep sleep.

And that case is so pitiful.
