How do you know your overpriced product isn’t selling?
I mean other than the fact I have yet to see a pair in the wild despite the fact I literally fly around the world for a living.

It’s such a weird product to me.

It does an amazing job with noise canceling, which you would think would make one want to use it for traveling, but then they did absolutely nothing in the design to make it convenient to travel with nor did they include a travel worthy case.

I guess it’s just supposed to be for around the house listening and watching movies?

Honestly I just think the AirPods Pro do a better job of that (and cheaper) and more comfortable/convenient also

I've had AirPods Max since March. Good headphones. Individual instruments are easier to hear and sound is almost always clear; if music is not clear it is most likely a lousy recording.

Yep. Along with that, I have longer hair often times throughout the year and the weight and hair combo made it easy for them to slide around and out of position and threaten to completely fly off my head if I wasn’t careful about what I was doing with them while on. (Cooking was a problem sadly)
I'm sometimes on the shaggy side too, and them putting the controls at the top of the earcup means my hair piles up on it and makes it slightly harder to work the volume knob. Absolutely a first-world problem, I know, but I don't quite understand why they didn't put the controls at the bottom.

I’ve seen them only once in the wild. But I think people don’t wear them out as they’re afraid to get robbed.

If it goes any lower I’ll pick up a second set for dad. Compared it with the xm3’s and APM are way better for my use case. I only fear them discontinuing these ala HomePod’s

I have both and the pros are a completely different product with its own use case vs the max. Sure you could do it with one of them but I believe for portability nothing beats the pros , where as for audio quality and immersion the max win at the cost of weight and size

Good question. I’m so tempted to get one.

As someone who bought the silver, my recommendation is don't get the silver. The earpads and the headband got dingy pretty quickly. I ended up buying a pair of black earpads which obviously don't start looking dirty very easily -- and every once in a while I wash the headband. Apple has instructions on doing it carefully (you can use water as long as you keep the earcups dry, obviously.)

Anyway, not the end of the world, but just know they show dirt. If I had it to do over I'd get the space gray just to not have to deal with it.

(I'm also the guy who thought it would be good to buy a white car with a cream colored interior even though I'm putting a toddler in there who likes to throw food and beverages around. Genius move on my part.)

I actually disagree about the case. It does look stupid, no argument there. But it also doesn't add bulk at all. And when I do travel with them, I'm putting them in a bag with my laptop, a book, maybe a jacket -- or in my suitcase entirely surrounded by clothing. So they're protected enough for the way I carry them, and they're not filing up my entire bag the way a full-on enclosed case would.

The option is always there to buy a full case, but I'm actually fairly happy with what they chose. Yes, it does look like a weird little techno-purse but I've made my peace with that.

I guess it’s just supposed to be for around the house listening and watching movies?

To be honest, that's 95% of my usage, and the noise cancellation is very welcome at times in my apartment. There can be all kinds of NYC traffic noise outside, or a screaming toddler inside -- and I can push a button and have instant quiet. It's saved my life over the course of this year.

I throw the ear pads in the washer and wash the headband at the sink. Silver looks stupid good. Using the sim tool to remove the headband Makes cleaning super easy. What I’ve done is keep black ear pad on right and white on left. No more fussing around with R/L

Good to know. As a sad NYC apartment dweller I don't have a washing machine but I might try handwashing the white ones just for s***s and giggles to see how it goes.

Nice. When my AppleCare expires later this year I'll be down to try the sim tool thing, but until then I'm paranoid about doing that and then giving them an excuse to deny coverage in the unlikely event of a hardware problem. I had pretty decent results putting just the headband under running water, but your way definitely sounds easier.

This has been speculated about a lot before, but I do wish there were some headband and cushion color customization options available when purchasing. Feels like a real missed opportunity given how modular everything is.

I have hand washed them and set it on my air purifier to dry. Works a treat.
AirPods studio was a missed shot for sure.
i would be down to buy different colored headbands just like the ear pads already on sale.
the ease of cleaning is a major selling point for me vs other headphones which is never highlighted in reviews.

Also not having a washer in easy access might a good thing. I ruined one of my space black link bracelet and roomba rollers in the wash lol

Funny how some of us (me included) feel that these headphones are too expensive to begin with, and others (who have purchased them and enjoy them) are willing to pay even more to get different colored headbands, ear pads, etc.

It's all good.

I still regret not buying 3 HomePods instead of 2 lol
Their niche products gotta be tried to have an opinion
