Just a day after the launch of new MacBook Pro and Mac mini models, Amazon has slashed its pricing on the Apple Studio Display to $1,299.99, down from its regular price of $1,599.00.

This $299 discount on the Apple Studio Display is the steepest we've ever seen and is available only on the lowest-cost model with standard glass and a tilt-adjustable stand.

Upgrading to nano-texture glass for even less glare increases the price to $1,749.00, which is still a solid deal at a $150 savings over the regular price. Versions with the tilt- and height-adjustable stand are priced higher.

That just means both the LG and the Studio Display are overpriced. In my opinion, the Studio Display should cost no more than $999.
It should also just come with the height adjustable stand. I could see that combo for $1300 as good monitors really aren't cheap. It should also include an extra input for other computers, and the user should be able to remove the stand and mount it like any other monitor out there. If it met all of those criteria, I'd easily pay $1300 for it.

A brand new LG Ultrafine 5K can easily be had for $1100, open box $900, used $550-800.
There is not a single used Studio Display under $1200 anywhere, I know I've looked

But the normal MRSP is $1300. Well, the Apple Studio Display is the best Mac display besides the Pro XDR display so I'd be suprised if you find it for lower than $1200.

If you enjoy PWM flickering, bugs/quirks with Mac OS and reliability issues (as LG monitors tend to break alot), then sure, go for the LG.

Just received my Apple Certified Refurbished Studio Display last week in anticipation for my M2 Pro Mac Mini (arriving tomorrow!), I can’t believe it’s dropped to such a low price.

Word to the wise: Apple does price matching! In the past week, I’ve been able to price match the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and now the Studio Display to save over a hundred bucks.

Not to mention cheap plastic versus sturdy aluminum, and shake shake shake every time you move at your desk.

iMac 27" replacement that is $2599

- 27" 5K display
- M2 Pro base chip
- 32GB memory
- 1TB 5.6GB/s
- Magic Keyboard with Numberpad and Touch ID
- Magic Trackpad
Right, this doesn't come with a Magic Keyboard or Magic Trackpad so the value proposition is lessened.

Doubly so since resale is typically better with a product like an iMac, or a MacBook Air for that matter.
