So, still buy the Logitech alternative? Yes. It's amazing.
I kind of fell out of love with my Logitech Combo. I love, love the function keys and the protection the case provides. But, the space it takes when using the keyboard, with the case flap extended is way to big on my small desk loaded with a full MacMini set-up. Not a big deal, but for airline travel, and couch use it take up too much real estate. I've got a large laptop, lap board, and the extension flap hover too close to the back edge.

Finally recently, I've found the space key of the Combo less responsive, and my iPad's cursor has started to freeze. Enough I said.

I've ordered the White Keyboard because it is on sale. I have the original, MK, and it just barely accommodates my 2021 iPad. The new one does a better fit job, because I tried it out.

My buddy, who has my old iPad is about to be gifted either my old MK. I don't know if he will be interested in the Logitech Combo.

I am going to miss the function keys!!!

This setup is definitely a luxury setup, one for people that don’t need to do a lot of work on their computer. For people that just need to read, type some, and get light work done, it’s perfect. And then you have the tablet ability when you need it. It’s not intended to replace a laptop, it’s a computer for people who don’t do heavy gaming and don’t have large workloads.
To be clear, I do much creative work on my iPad Pro, like editing videos in Luma Fusion or composing music in Symphony Pro. So, for me this device is for more than just casual use.

But none of that work is enhanced by the Magic Keyboard, and in some ways it’s made worse since the cursor fails to recognize a touch target in some instances. I find the Apple Pencil for more precise for the above tasks, as well as for photo editing and PDF markups.

Ultimately, the MKB was serving two purposes: 1. typing in dark room, and 2. keeping the screen free of fingerprints. Neither of these was worth the $350 price.
