Amazon this week has introduced a slate of deals on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, with markdowns hitting every configuration of the 2021 tablet. You'll find the full list of sales below, with prices reaching as much as $399 off these devices.

Highlights in this sale include the tablets with higher storage that are seeing new all-time low prices, like the 1TB Wi-Fi 12.9-inch iPad Pro for $1,599.99 ($199 off) and the 2TB Cellular 12.9-inch iPad Pro for $1,999.99 ($399 off). At this much of a discount, the 2TB Cellular 12.9-inch iPad Pro is now the same price as the 2TB Wi-Fi model, so this is a great time to buy the cellular device.

For a few of these tablets, shoppers should note that there are delayed shipping estimates and dwindling stock in a few cases, so be sure to check out the deals soon if you're interested.

  • 128GB Wi-Fi - $999.00, down from $1,099.00 ($100 off)

I can't imagine buying a 2TB tablet. For me personally, by the time I got anywhere near filling that space I'd be ready for the next best thing that has come out. I get that my situation is different than others, but I'm curious what percentage of iPad pros are the 2TB variety.

With the current state of iPadOS, I could not see the point in spending over $1,000 for an iPad.
I’m just asking genuinely, but do you think iPadOS is really that broken where you wouldn’t suggest spending ~$1000 give or take on this iPad?

As always, it depends on need, wants, and the money you have, but if I were to recommend any iPad for general use it would be the iPad Air. I have the previous generation and do some light work on it. With a keyboard, it shows so much potential for having a powerful, small form-factor laptop/tablet. I know that heavy work isn’t the point of an iPad, but the current device is such a tease that it’s a bit frustrating not being able to do more with it.

I regret buying an iPad Pro M1 12.9 so much. I wanted a good portable device and a good at home device. I decided an iMac 24 for the home and an iPad Pro for on the road. Use side car etc as well so it can compliment my Mac at home. But my god iPad OS has proven way too limited to be reliable enough to be used for anything productive in my use cases. I even purchased the magic keyboard to help but the apps just aren’t as good as on the Mac and without windowing, split screen etc just isn’t as intuitive when doing anything other than basic research or consuming. I’m not even using my iPad as a full laptop replacement or anything, just the occasional laptop task and it’s not up to scratch. I wish I’d of just got a MacBook and an external monitor so I have it portable and for at home. Then maybe just an iPad Air for media consumption and the odd pencil use!

Agreed, and I am a massive iPad Pro user and fan, since 2016. However there are some people who may benefit from the additional RAM and onboard storage for movies, games, etc. I am content with the 8GB RAM model.

Well when Apple releases the next generation, there had better be significant improvements in iOS, or it will be doubly be hard to justify the next generation hardware. As an owner of the 2021 iPad Pro I did up the base specification in hopes that there would be a more sophisticated iOS soon to follow.

Looking back I should have popped for a smaller iPad and a MacBook Air. In fact a MacBook Air will probably be in my future, and I'll just hang on to the 2021 iPadPro. I am at the point were I doubt the next iOS will be a game changer.

Create content. With LumaFusion and local storage for edits its not difficult to use the space when you record 5K video. The video is cut and trimmed to shorten the output but until then you want space to work with. I dont use 2TB either but it would not be difficult to do for a more active content creator. 4K video is about a gig a minute.

Do you think you'd do alot of 2,000 minute videos? Maybe some cool time lapse videos?

They really need to work on iPad OS and also move camera to top in landscape mode to make the perfect laptop alternative

Other than the gimme reasons of “I only use it for emails and video calls but my company paid for it, so 🤷🏻‍♂️“ and “I have more money than sense” I could see tv/film production environments where having one/multiples of these loaded up with previously shot footage could be super useful on set. You don’t want to be paying cast and crew to twiddle their thumbs while you try to get the WiFi and/or cell service to cooperate.

I realize that, to your point, that must be a small % of sales, but I think Apple values those sales more than the dollars they bring in. It’s almost de-facto marketing/advertising.

For a rich grandma it's sufficient to keep in touch with her grandkids and facebook friends.
yes, probably that's it what are they useful for, given current state of PadOS (and i am saying it as a user of iPad Mini 6). I use that device for three things, which are browsing, a night bed card game and chess/football game. The thing is useless for anything else, including email. Occasionally, I use it for livescore of music sheets.

My kid uses her iPad to make small animated Youtube videos by taking and combining hundreds of screenshots. As a FCP user, the mere view of that convoluted and unnatural creative process iPadOS forces on us, depresses me most, because I can imagine how my kid could be more productive if the OS were something more productive.

Oh well, I knew what I was buying my Ipad Mini 6 for, so no complaints. Generally it is an expensive and mostly useless toy in its current state.

I need the magic keyboard sale to happen again. Been itching to get one.

I'm really torn on this - the magic keyboards make the iPads SO much more useful, but they're also heavy as hell, and really up the weight and bulk.

11" iPad Pro with Magic keyboard is 2.3 pounds, 12.9" iPad pro with Magic keyboard is 3lbs. That's just a few grams lighter than a 13" MacBook Pro at 3.09lbs, and the MacBook Air is 2.8lbs.

Given how powerful and flexible an M1 MacBook Air is, the 12.9 iPad Pro with magic keyboard is a tough sell, and I say that as someone who owns and heavily uses mine.

But my god iPad OS has proven way too limited to be reliable enough to be used for anything productive in my use cases.

??? Limited and reliable are two separate aspects. The iPad may not be able to do what you want, but does it actually produce inconsistent results? Fail from time to time? Work sometimes, but not others?

Genuinely curious. What are your use cases?

I even purchased the magic keyboard to help but the apps just aren’t as good as on the Mac and without windowing, split screen etc just isn’t as intuitive when doing anything other than basic research or consuming.
??? The iPad has split screen. What are you doing other than research and consuming? Which apps aren't doing what you want?

I’m not even using my iPad as a full laptop replacement or anything, just the occasional laptop task and it’s not up to scratch.

“Not up to scratch”? In which specific ways?

I'm asking because it sounds like you needed a laptop substitute and it didn’t work out. However, if you specify where things went wrong or don't work, there may be features, settings, and actions that you've overlooked — e.g., split screen or different apps — that people can offer to make your iPad more serviceable to you!

They forgot to mention the AirPods Pro. It is now priced to 174.99. I was supposed to get the AirPods 3rd G but the $10 difference... ? I can't beat it.
