A fully-functional phone is worth more to me than a headphone jack at the same price.

But the point of that thread was people wanting a dedicated music player. Yes, the phone will also do that, but not without interrupting the music playing when a text, or email, or other notification crops up. On a dedicated music player a headphone jack is essential. But, I would only buy an iPod again if they just sell the classic again, but with flash storage of 1TB or 2TB. I would buy that immediately. It would be cool to add bluetooth and wifi (just to support airplay not an app store or anything else).

One can very easily disconnect an extra phone from receiving messages, emails, or any other notification. The functionality of a phone is still worth more to me than a headphone jack. It is something that can always be added after the fact, if the user isn’t on BT yet.
