I know what Steve said about styli (Steve said lots of stuff ? - happy birthday eve, btw) but I think iPhone screens are now large enough - especially the Pro Max - where Pencil support begins to make sense. At that point, we would truly had a Field Notes-sized scenario - which I would LOVE.

For me, Pencil support on the Pro line is the feature I would like to see most. At this point, processing speed, camera, battery life - all of that is incredible. I'm less interested in little spec bumps than I am in additional capabilities. I'd love to be able to scribble out notes or sketches on my iPhone Pro. While maybe in the minority, I don't think I am alone.
I've been asking for an Apple Pencil on the max/Plus sized iPhones for years.

MR: You need to brush up on your rendering skills; from that angle they look like a bunch of iPhones

I agree, it would be pretty cool to use the pencil on the iPhone Pro Max. Back when Steve made those comments, he was referring to ONLY being able to use a stylus to use the device. I think he would have a different opinion on the Apple Pencil, it's a great device.

Good call on the context surrounding Steve's styli comment. And totally agree: he would be singing Pencil's praises today as it is a great device. Matter of fact, I bet there are other praises Steve would be singing about things that are highly polarizing today (like TouchBar) and the current nay-sayers would fall in line just because Steve said. That was one of his mystical traits... He had an almost mesmerizing ability to make others believe whatever it was he believed - even when that belief evolved or changed. And if he believed something that others didn't or wouldn't, he doubled down on his belief. While that certainly resulted in some missteps, it is also a key factor in Apple's ability to innovate. Anyway, happy birthday Steve (and MR!).

He’d didn’t believe in small tablets either remember. I wonder what he would have thought about the iPad mini 6.

Don’t wait for Apple with promotions, when carriers have promotions quite frequently. Heck, even look at Best Buy with promotions, similar to what they were offering last I saw with a ~$25 gift card in store with a purchase of a Mini that was back I believe sometime after the New Year. They are out there, just a quick Google search might even pull up some online promotions through various retailers as well.
Easily mistaken, I meant the 120hz promotion display.
