Just got the email from Amazon today for the credit. For whatever reason it doesn't go into your gift card balance, but is a code you have to apply for $10 off at checkout during your next Amazon order.
I screwed up again yesterday by paying for the second Apple gift card with my Amazon gift card balance. The fine print of the promotion says you can't pay with Amazon gift cards. When I tried today to purchase a third gift card, using the APPLEOCT code and my Discover card, it said I qualified for the promotion, so I hope the third time's the charm for me.

This feels dirty. I have not received the $10 credit so don't expect to actually get it. Yet, MacRumors gets the affiliate credit... yep, dirty.

My girlfriend and I got our codes via email earlier today. Unfortunately, we both thought these would simply add $10 to our Amazon gift card balance. Not so. You have to enter the code when purchasing an item, the code expires on December 3, 2021, and it can only be applied to certain items. We both tried putting several different items in our carts and were told we can't use the code. I managed to get it to take $10 off for a tub of Cascade dishwasher tablets.

Yeah, the fine print on the $10 code says only items sold by Amazon.com Inc, so nothing being sold by a 3rd party through Amazon. That's probably why it's not a gift card credit, as that could be used for anything sold on the Amazon platform.

Got my email as well for the $10 . . .

Received my e-mail notification as well.

The e-mail includes a promotional code that has to be manually entered when you purchase an item. It's not automatically applied to an order.

Also, the small print on the Amazon page states: "Promo Credit is valid through and expires on November 5, 2021, 11:59 PM (PT)."

Wow, you're right! The email I received says "promotion code must be used by December 3, 2021" but the terms link says "Promo Credit is valid through and expires on November 5, 2021." Weird.

Anyone have any luck with this? I purchased a $100 apple gift card, and the title of the gift card before checking out included "Get $10 Amazon promotional credit..." (see attached screenshot). During checkout though I didn't see anything, and haven't received anything in my email beyond the $100 apple gift card.
I made the purchase and didn’t read further down to see that I may have needed to put in a promo code (although the verbiage above that sentence implied that no promo code was necessary). I never got the credit. Contacted Amazon about it (and provided a link to this macrumors post), and they said they couldn’t give me the $10 credit. Lame. They did offer me a $5 one time credit which I accepted, but they made it seem like the fact that I didn’t get the $10 credit was not their fault or responsibility.

(With a $100 amazon gift card (e delivery) in my cart).

Yeah, well happy for those that got it. :p Looks like Amazon shut this one down quick.

I finally got the promo code to work! It just took finding the right “qualifying product”: these 3M N95 masks. I tried many others that “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com” but this is the only item I could find that triggered the credit. See screenshot below.

My email says the code must be used by Dec 3, and I'm aware the T&C page says “expires on November 5, 2021”, but today is Nov 23, so I trust the date in the email is the correct expiration.

Thanks, @quinncom. I tried it again after your posting and got it to work on the first item I tried that was sold and shipped by Amazon.
