PSST, Here's a secret. If you want your family to be able to find your AirTags just have them sign in to your Apple ID.
Presto-Chango-Bing-Badda-Boom.
They can now track your airTags.

Worth noting: I don't have kids.

Is it really worth it to people to spend this kind of money on beacons? What are the use cases you have that justify these costs? I've seen mention in the past of adding one to a bike, that makes sense to me...I guess. I'm just not seeing the need here. Thanks for answers.

I could share my BMW’s digital key, but I don’t.
FWIW, if you set up a digital key, you just made it more stealable.

No need. It has its own traceable GPS system that cannot be disengaged or thrown out.
